New release due to come out early/mid December on Martinez's label Concealed Sounds

Alex Celler - Polhammer EP (2015) (CCLD006)

Genial's new release might be a bit late this time, but they say that good things come to those who wait. For their second release, Genial present an EP from a relatively newborn duo; Archie Hamilton & Patrice Meiner. We say relatively because both of them have a strong presence in the music industry, but have only recently started to make music together.

Archie Hamilton, hailing from London, has been making steady steps in the production world with releases on labels such as Fear Of Flying, moscow recrds and Tzinah. Patrice Meiner, now based in Berlin, has started his solo career after releasing tracks as Kabuto & Koji on Viva, Cocoon and many more.

The EP opens with Antithesis; a track based around a solid groove, with delightfully liquid-sounding drums and acidic undertones. Toms, hats and tones breathe and bounce their way around the track, creating infectious hooks that keep the listener enthralled. Belgian artist Igor Vicente does an excellent job of reworking the original synths, turning the track into a more late-night affair with his psychedelic, tension-filled remix.

On the flip Comatose Commodity does exactly what it describes, by inducing the listener into a synth and drum-fueled trance. Filtered spoken-word vocals dance around the stereo spectrum, drawing one in and out of a hypnotic state. Dubsons' interpretation of the track is in much clubbier territory; the Romanian duo turns in a thumping, dance-floor oriented piece sure to get fists pumping.

Archie Hamilton & Patrice Meiner - Comatose Commodity (Original Mix)

Genial welcomes 2014 with a new release and at the same time a new member in its roster. It’s the Italy based DJ and producer Leon who already has an impressive discography on labels like Cecille, Saved, Defected and many many more. 

On Genial he debuts with a track that has caused havoc every single time it got played for the past 6 months in clubs all over the world. King Of The Jungle takes us back to the past with its old school break beat, while the robot-esque vocal sample brings a flavour from the future.

On the remix duties, the label favourite Egal 3 provides a deep atmospheric version full of haunting synths and fxs, totally written for those late mornings when you just want to get lost in the music. On the b side, Danish producer Martinez is taking us to an almost 14 minutes trip with his Concealed Dub mix, with a deep but very groovy bass and a special arrangement which will keep you going from the start to end.

Leeds-based house duo Bonar Bradberry and Tom Thorpe have been working together as PBR Streetgang for coming up to a decade now, cutting their musical teeth on their home city’s infamous nightlife, and developing into an act that’s equally known for their quality studio output on labels like 20:20 Vision and Futureboogie, as well as their reputation for using the back-to-back setup to maximum dynamic effect in their DJ performances.

Thus as fans of PBR, when the boys take an interest in the development of an up and coming artist it piques our curiosity into seeing what said artist has to offer. After one listen to their remix of emerging singer/songwriter Charlotte OC’s ‘Colour My Heart’ she had not only our curiosity but our full attention as we set about securing the track for exclusive premiere here on Data Transmission.

With her debut Colour My Heart EP still making waves from last year as the Blackburn born Charlotte’s ode to a special night in Berlin’s Berghain and a full remix EP to follow soon get a taste of things to come on the upcoming release with this ace rework by PBR Streetgang!

For our next release, we welcome Goa Club regular Lorenzo Dada and let him takes charge of things. Having collaborated in the past with Jay Haze in various projects, this is his first solo project for Contexterrior presenting ‘’Almost Home EP’’. Lorenzo also manages Rome’s Yamaha Conservatory and the 5 tracks he delivers balance perfectly between House & Techno, with an underlying musicality and originality to them, as one would expect from a classically trained musician.

‘’Almost Home’’ is the opening track. Smooth pads, evolving percussion and a captivating rhythm combine to this early morning deep groover. Next up is ‘’Habitat’’ which evolves slowly and steadily within a dark, mysterious mood, a low-slung groove, along shadowy soundscapes. ‘’Once in a While’’ is a beautiful take on acid, with a driving, acidic bassline and lush chords which make this a smooth yet peak time affair.  ‘’Sometimes it Happens’’ and ‘’Standard Issue’’ complete the release, both being two after-hours gems, offering stripped back grooves, along electronic textures and a shuffled up kick & bass combination which make these effective both for the mind and the dancefloor.

In this first release, we present you one of the hottest underground Romanian talents, Egal 3. Having already very successful releases at labels like Barraca, Fear of  Flying, EDEC and a track featured in one of the last Cocoon Recordings compilations he is one to watch in the following years.

His Bios EP is consisted of 3 tracks, Bios, Lost Soul and Serata which are guaranteed to create a great atmosphere on the dancefloor.
