US producer, DJ and label owner: Doc Brown has pushed the limits of tech house with his dark, twisted, hypnotic productions and legendary DJ sets. Releasing on labels like UNDR THE RADR, Stereo Productions, Wlydcard and more recently his own Unlearn:Records, Doc Brown is one of the consistently innovative producers in the game. 
In 2020 Doc launched his brand new imprint Unlearn:Records with a double-A side release of his own and a philosophy to properly invest in the careers of the artists releasing on the label.  Unlearn:Records imprint will serve as an outlet for his own fresh, unique take on tech house and techno, as well as showcasing other artists producing incredible music that sits a little outside of the status quo, focussing on dark grooves, rolling beats and an abundance of energy with every release.

Reculture returns with its installation of ‘A Touch of Culture’. Parts 1 and 2 of this second edition reels in even more friends of the label, to showcase the variety and depth of the narratives from the artists it closely keeps eyes on. Seven different tracks - seven different
textures, emotions and soundscapes.

Hardt Antoine alongside label friends REj and Pattn showcase a deep and slow burning intergalactic dance of ‘Ecstasy’. Leading hard with its thumping bassline, flickers of retro- infused synths and a spiralling melody crusade in passionate and melodramatic fashion.
Taking us along a wave of kinetic hi-hat-htting energy comes from Sahar’s ‘The Last Chapter’. Playing dynamic in groove, it shakes, rattles and rolls along a supersonic landscape, laced with plenty of balearic-infused acid squelches and an uplifting vocal.

Light in movement, it leans towards a minimally breezy vibe.
Jepe introduces us to his world of ‘Binomial Expansion’. Capturing fast rolling energy with its computerised twinkles, whizzles and whirls, churning and clapping - all elements layered intelligently to keep its pace highly-strung throughout. Its array of shrill synthesis radiates until it throws itself into obscure madness, tamed by a body-moving groove.

Madloch's Crossfade Sounds welcomes back LeopoldoIII to the label. After making his debut on the recent Tales from the Dub, Vol. 2 compilation, the Mexican producer returns with his two-track EP, Fractal Waves. Featuring the title track Fractal Waves alongside Polar Vortex, this release showcases LeopoldoIII's evolving sound and talent for crafting deep, dub-influenced electronic music.

We can hardly believe it, but Connaisseur is turning 20 this year! It all began in early November 2005 with our debut release, Patrick Chardronnet’s “Eve By Day.” Not only was it our first track, but it also became our first hit, setting the tone for everything to come. Now, hundreds of tracks later, we're proudly entering our anniversary year.

To celebrate our anniversary, we’ve gathered musical gifts from some of our beloved artists — tracks that truly resonate with us and embody The Sound of Connaisseur.

Introducing “The Presents,” a series of releases leading up to our official anniversary in November.

The series kicks off with our Offenbach friends Shayde, aka Delenz and Richard IV. With previous releases under this moniker, or in various combinations, on labels such as Live At Robert Johnson, Rawax, Moodmusic, Connaisseur, Delenz's own label Turbolenz, and an upcoming releases on Cocoon Recordings, Shayde have prepared a special gift for our anniversary.

Two tracks that truly capture the spirit and sound of Connaisseur.

"Karri Otschi" is a timeless, stomping yet subtle techno track that would also work beautifully in a more uptempo house set. Meanwhile, "Under Clean Blankets" is a stunning, acid-infused electro tune. A genuine Connaisseur release through and through.
