New York techno legend Bryan Cox dons his PHNTM guise once again for the latest slice of Great Stuff, returning to the imprint after his 2011 collaboration with Christian Cambas, Inferno. With releases on imprints like Toolroom, 1605 Music Therapy, Blu Fin and Hotfingers, his alter-ego has been blazing a trail through the world of new skool tech in recent years.

Out Of Africa falls just the right side of moody, with its brooding, dramatic tones and bombastic tribal percussion. With plenty of chunk for your Euro, it layers percussion in thick layers, driven by droning atonal bass and unrelenting rhythm. Ominous horns sound at key moments of tension during the track, creating a dramatic slab of dancefloor gold.

On the flip, Njabulo is phatter still, with a plump arpeggiated bassline chugging away beneath snappy beats and powerful but never-OTT builds raising the energy further. Little flecks of tribalism pepper the groove, and rousing drum fills punctuate the track&#8217;s progression. It&#8217;s a taut, meaty track that&#8217;s executed with expert finesse.

First smashing hit from Unreleased Digital in 2012 comes from the helvetic dream team: Daniel Portman & Stanley Ross. After a few very successful collaborations they return on Unreleased Digital with "The Flow". An uplifting progressive house track with driving beats and typical rolling basslines. The big break down choir gets every crowd on fire and is intent to sing along after the first few bars.
Rino Cabrera offers a more house influenced remix. Still keeps the festival hands-up feeling but surrounded by a more straight house beat and shaking tech house elements.

MdS and Gymmy J they deliver to Respekt world an exquisite techno EP. The title track &#8216;Aug&#8217; is first and it has a great feel and energy from early on. Using a dark bassline synth pattern that gives the track a very good chunk and drive. Plus there are some twisted and sinister sounds that also give it a good dirty edge. Closing this EP is &#8216;Red&#8217;, building with ripping synth patterns as well followed by smooth beats. The solid drums kick in and from then on, we have another solid techno production.A pretty nice release here for Respekt, with MdS and Gymmy J providing a great set of productions, well done.
