As the Marker of his first steps at Thisbe Recordings, Andrew Claristidge tasked himself with the assembly of what would become the label's first compilation.

At times music gets lost for years in virtuality... And like an archeologist of modern times he wandered into his own archives, rifling through old hard drives and files exchanged with fellow musicians throughout the years to uncover music from the likes of Arnaud Rebotini, Acid Washed, Rambal Cochet, Danton Eeprom, Mount Kismet, Commando Variété & Seb El Zin.

What other than « Black Ink », as a name, could portray the impression brought on by this collection of tracks? A compilation that writes an original scenario between space opera and romantic Sci-fi story. As the music unfolds, the listener discovers treasures spanning genres such as Indie Dance, Leftfield, Detroit Techno, Electro, EBM...

It's time for a massive extended play from Oaxaca, Mexico. Ricci OJ a.k.a. Mad Slow presents us : "Distopía", 3 original tracks and 5 remixes by: So Piuzzi, Bluecommand, Paltamango, Lucas Novaes and Khafuri.

Mad Slow takes references from chip-tune, electro and techno to create this EP: Machine, Jungle and Detroit are the songs that make up this "Distopía". With big basses, robotic sounds and strong highs, the Oaxacan transports us to a half-extraterrestrial atmosphere to enjoy this journey that is transformed a long the way with the incredible remixes.

From Cordoba, Argentina, So Piuzzi takes "Jungle" to a style between deep, minimal and techno, using ethereal sounds, generating a dark atmosphere.

They are firing away with Planet Rock-informed Electrovibes that will make you want to get your freezes and powermoves on immediately. Needless to say, there are hi-energy chords all over the place on the A-side „Alpha Juno Love“. A similar rhythmic kink is to be observed on the flip „Accroche-Toi À Ton Amour“ as well, just backed by rather straight four to the floor patterns. On top of that they are serving some cut up synth and vocal garnish, rounding the whole thing off to a delicious little dancefloor cakelet.

Two years after the release of Charles Webster's album Decision Time, which was praised equally by critics and musicians, the British artist delivers three new mixes for one of the album's stand-out tracks I Wonder Why. Besides Atjazz taking on remix duties, and a musical approach from Nowism, Charles himself reworked the track to give it an even darker note accentuating the track's message by going without a continuous bass line and emphasizing on sounds, which perfectly go with the spoken vocals. Webster proves once again that you can create House music without its ordinary features and basically approves what the press already said: "There's almost no House music here, though it still runs as a hidden pulse through the record."
