Some time ago,  I proposed to Alexis a cover of this "cult" song for our generation in France named "Le vent nous portera" by the very popular group (at the time) Noir désir fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_vent_nous_portera . 
I thought his voice would really go well on this kind of mythical song ..reminding us of our student years :)
I must confess I was also very motivated to try the clarinet solo .... such a beautiful solo from https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akosh_Szelev%C3%A9nyi with the metal clarinet .. I think ...this is unique in French Rock'n roll ...or Rock'n roll in general ! We  hope you like our version of it !
Alexis is singing and playing two beautiful guitar parts (nylon strings and electric solo) , I took care of the rest !

"Cimmerian was one of the last songs we did for the album. I think we were all kind of dealing with some intense gloom at the time. I asked D3 if he was interested in doing a bossa nova tune. He put together the drums and percussion and piano and I played some guitar and sang, but then we had to call in the big guns to give it some flavor! Alex Sinfield is on the saxophone. He's great, love his stuff, he's got the right touch, all the time. Cheers to Alex! And of course then we thought a little father son duo on a song would be great so we begged Russ Sinfield to pick up his new guitar, fix the noise problem in the wiring and then rip us a beautiful guitar solo. The Sinfields rock. All in all, it came together pretty quickly and easily. One of my faves on the album. It's definitely dark and gloomy. Cheers!!"

When Ronny the Rocket and I first made this track, we couldn't decide who would be the best person to add their magical touch to the mix and master of this song. So we decided to have both Wou-Wou & the Wormling and Ill Dub make a version. I originally posted the Ill Dub version on my page and Ronny the Rocket posted the Wou-Wou & the Wormling version on his page. Both Ronny and I eventually took down the respective versions from our page as new music was made. I have numerous songs set to private to eventually delete as I am running out of space on my page and am not going to pay for a SoundCloud Pro Unlimited plan. But, I still like this song, so decided to give it fresh life on my page with the Wou-Wou & the Wormling mix.

Strap yourself into your personal space suit and take a intergalatic spaced out trip to space and beyond in this new thought provoking gadget generated original deep mysterious electronic sci-fi dub hop soundtrack this time using Cubase synced up with a Doepfer Dark Time sequencer to trigger a Rakit sequencer via its clock input (you have to build Rakit kits yourself and use a soldering iron to fit componenets to the circuit boards) and then used its cv out to trigger a Korg ms10, i then used the tiny break out box from the Rakit sequencer to control and power a Rakit Atari Punk console and played the Deluxe Punk console live, i also used Cubase to send midi messages to a Korg Little Bits setup this time with 2 ossilator modules a mix, filter & delay module and used drums hooked up from Teenage Engineerings tonic and Soniccharges Microtonic multi and the voice you hear was generated by triggering a free vst instrument called Wavosaur VstSpeek3 and for the techies amongst use or anyone else whos interested some links to the gear and soft used! Huge gratitude to my friend Caemon Rigby for reaching out and instantly inspiring me to make a song with him. He put massive amounts of love into the track and I think it came out so fresh and so clean! 

The song lyrics were partially inspired by woman who, many years ago, looked at me with sultry eyes and then whispered in my ears, "shiva shakti," after having a long sexy dance together. I think I must have also been thinking about Osho Ashram when writing these lyrics. haha.
