From the Cascadia region of North America recording music as STRATEGY since 1999. Avoiding the temptation to use many names STRATEGY music ranges from experimental, sound art and noise music, to ambient, dub, techno, house, and mostly hybrids of all these...Based in Portland I love to play live, remix, and collaborate, tour when I can, also dabble in building my own gear for mostly hardware driven setups! I'm a founding partner of the casual and diverse independent label, COMMUNITY LIBRARY.

Examples of recording and/or mixing work by Portland, Oregon recording and live sound engineer Jason Powers. Since 2000 Jason has been part-owner of Type Foundry Recording in Portland. He has recorded numerous records there and elsewhere, including projects by The Decemberists, Moon Duo, Grails, Scout Niblett and Blue Cranes. His work spans a wide variety of genres from indie-pop to americana to jazz, out/experimental and punk. Jason has also toured the world extensively as a live sound engineer for acts such as Matthew Dear, Johann Johannsson, Cibo Matto, HTRK, and Laura Veirs.
