An aleatoric composition in C Major made using a Plantwave MIDI device. First, I place the electrode pads on a prayer plant (pictured), which then triggers MIDI notes on a VST pad synth in FL Studio, as well as on a bass-y mini hardware "Pocket Piano" synth, both of which play notes based on the translated bio-electric data it receives from Plantwave. This is recorded together with moving freeform guitar, vocals harmonies, and other real-time sampling, with minor touches of manual input from my end. I invite you to notice the direction it takes all on its own. When does it seem to align, and when does it seem to feel more clashy and discordant?
