Lumberjacks in Hell has been founded in 2010. Intimate Friends followed in 2013. For some people the difference or the need for distinction between these two is quite evident but to give you an idea. Lumberjacks is always 100% for the dance floor, inspired by the music from Chicago and Detroit which is not only reflected in the Artists we release. Intimate Friends is a headier affair. Soul, Hip Hop and House are all fair game. If you check the releases next to each other both labels have a distinct sound. And maybe a certain BPM range. This isn't saying that some of the music couldn't have appeared on either label but somehow it all makes sense to me. Yam Who? is the internationally known alter ego of the disco producer Andy Williams. One of the most consistent DJ’s on the circuit, every weekend you’ll find him rocking the dance floor at clubs & festivals around the globe including Glitterbox, Lovebox, Ministry Of Sound, Horse Meat Disco, Love International. He’s featured on line ups with the world’s finest selectors including Greg Wilson, Joey Negro, Melvo Baptiste, Tiger & Woods, Purple Disco Machine & Danny Krivit.

Ambitious & tirelessly active alongside his partner in crime Tom Laroye they are signed to Glitterbox Recordings as Qwestlife. Having already released 2 chart busting singles ‘Give Me A Minute’ &  ‘Hit It Off’ they are set to unleash their block party rocker ‘Fever’ feat Sugarhill Gang, Melle Mel, Scorpio & Siedah Garrett. 

Behind the creation of 3 record labels Midnight Riot, Black Riot & Ism, theyl have a diversity of sounds with a line-up of producers, DJ’s including the world’s finest Eli Escobar, Ron Basejam, Lenny Fontana, John Morales and many more. For a further taster check out the recent collab alongside Hifi Sean with the New York legend Arthur Baker’s‘ on his classic 1979 re-release ‘Reachin’.

Since 2016 he’s been the Mixmag disco editor, providing a cutting edge platform for the disco, boogie & house modern scene, not forgetting his production touches for the legendary NYC disco band Odyssey. Following on in 2016 he released & co produced with Detroit’s Amp Fiddler’s their critically acclaimed album ‘Motor City Booty’. 

Over the years he’s added disco fever to Grace Jones (PIAS), John Legend (Sony Records) Josh Stone (Virgin Records). His party led productions have been released on Glitterbox, Classic Music Company, Ubiquity and with Joey Negro’s Z Records as Yam Who? & Jaegerossa ‘Grateful’ featuring Jacqui George, not forgetting one of biggest Traxsource Top 100 tunes of 2018, Dubplate Disco’s  ‘Pick Up’ (Yam Who edit). To round off 2019 look out for the forthcoming remixes compilation on Midnight Riot.

For Daniel Leseman & Junktion (Hans Peeman), successful producers on their own merits and friends since childhood, a collaboration was inevitable. Their house sound infused with disco and a lot of funk has been proven to be very infectious.

After the infamous Detroit Swindle signed them to their Heist imprint and released the booming Kill Frenzy EP their name was established firmly to a broad and quickly growing audience. The result was requests for DJ sets across Europe, the America’s & Australia with personal highlights including Glastonbury, LoveBox, Concrete Paris, Output New York, Club Space Miami, Claire and De Marktkantine in Amsterdam.

Their first vinyl release as Fouk, on their own Outplay Records was met with great enthusiasm, the brilliant reactions to ‘Stuff Your Dad Liked’ and ‘Cat Lady’ propelled Fouk and Outplay firmly into the scene as the ‘one to watch’. Since then they’ve released EP’s on Room With A View, The House of Disco and Razor-n-Tape and made a string of strong remixes for the likes of Kraak & Smaak, Smoove & Turrell, Groove Armada, The Brand New Heavies, Luke Million, Joey Negro and Mayer Hawthorne.

After releasing ‘Release The Kraken EP’ featuring Thumpasaurus on The House of Disco, ‘Truffles EP’ on Heist Recordings in 2019 and two EP’s on their own Outplay offshoot ’24 Carrot’ they return again on Heist in 2021 with ‘Blue Steel EP’. Continuing to build on the sound they have evolved throughout the years with a new impulse of creativity.
