The foundations for Clergy were first built in Manchester in the spring of 2015 with the release of Cleric’s Codes of Chaos EP. It marked the dawn of a new day for the UK techno doyen—whose stock as a DJ and producer was already soaring, but whose inimitable prowess for A&R was still yet to be recognized.
Ten years, 40 releases, and countless performances across the globe later, Cleric’s status in the industry is now priceless.
To celebrate 10 Years of Clergy, ten VA releases are already in motion. The second installment, titled Beta, features five original tracks, closing off with a Cleric remix of a track from the label’s extensive catalog over the years.

Lion is a DJ and music producer based in Berlin. With over twelve years of experience spanning various sectors of the music and cultural industries, he has established himself as a promoter and curator of diverse projects. His expertise extends to co-producing numerous national and international productions, contributing significantly behind the scenes.

His refined understanding of industry demands, paired with a deep-seated passion for sound and culture, serves as the cornerstone of his artistic identity. In recent years, he has devoted himself almost exclusively to the studio, engaging in cross-genre collaborations with a variety of artists.

The Amygdala is a central structure of the limbic system. It evaluates sensory inputs for emotional significance and potential threats, triggering neural pathways that generate emotional responses and embed as lasting memories.

Simultaneously, it initiates physical responses such as heartbeat, breathing, goosebumps, and the release of dopamine and serotonin. Within musical experience, the amygdala allows us to sense the emotional undertones of others intuitively, even before the mind can interpret them. This process is known as affective empathy.
