I've just listened to all your ambient vg99 patches & they are simply wonderful & very beautiful! I doubt you'd be able to (or maybe even want to) share your settings for all of these, but just one clue to your secrets would be hugely appreciated if you'd be willing? - how are you getting the very atmospheric string / synth type sounds eg on this track, but also similar on quite a few other tracks? Also the acoustic guitars? (my vg99 seems to be producing only very fake & cheesy sounding versions of both these types).. Anyway, beautifully creative playing & sounds - well done & thank you for these!!

Wonderfully beautiful!  The volume swells sound to me like sunrise, the guitar chords like the light glinting on mountain tops.  The sound develops and isn't static.  Love that harmonizer!

100% made with sounds dialled into a super rare 1977 Lord Synthesisers Skywave monosyth during revival and major repairs by D.A.Wilson at Hideaway Studio.  Believed to be only one of ten ever built it is clear this curious instrument was designed from the outset as a performance instrument boasting several unusual features such as a three-axis joystick modulating the pitch/filter/VCA/LFO and Sample-Hold features as well as featuring Low and Band-Pass filters along with a built-in Ring Modulator and Phaser.  It all takes some getting used to but there is a lot of sonic territory to explore with this unusual beast.  

I decided to call this piece Desert Awakening as I've often felt like I've been alone in the desert whilst reviving this beast thanks to an apparent total lack of any technical information out there!

VG-99 Demo: After Sleeping - Ambient Version

The 3rd full length release by the Cambridge, MA born Dane Keith Canisius flirts with multiple genres simultaneously -- Chill Wave, Shoegaze, Dreampop and Psychedelia and goes beyond these genre specifics.

Keith's earlier albums (Rumskib, Ferris Wheel Make out, Waves) have a strong Shoegaze and Dreampop approach with the Cocteau Twins and My Bloody Valentine aesthetics right upfront. On This Time It's Our High he moves closer to his own thing; making the album harder to define genre-wise as he blends so many elements together with elegance and without compromise. The result is a surreal, mood elevating sound combined with a fine pop sensibility that makes it easy to understand.

You could say that artists like Animal Collective, Ariel Pink, Deerhunter &amp; Panda Bear influenced some production elements on this album but at the same time it does not sound like those artists. It sounds like Keith Canisius.
