last month I had the honor of playing the famous m.n. roy in mexico city. i played from 3-5am and here is what I played. hope you enjoy it :)

Ever since the first time I saw its twinkling purple lights on the playa horizon, I’ve admired the beautiful Maxa deer and held dreams of playing on it. And this year, on the Thursday night, I had the honor of leading the deer from its camp out to deep playa where it would meet countless other animal art cars in an Animalia link-up! There was talks of a storm coming, and as I boarded the deer, it began to drizzle. I said a little prayer, the rain miraculously stopped, and she began to travel. I can honestly say there is no greater feeling than the one I felt for the two hours that followed, playing music on Maxa’s majestic deer while looking out into a crowd of some of my dearest friends smiling and dancing as more animal art cars joined the party. I remember just as I finished my last track feeling so full of joy and gratitude for everyone around me— my friends, the Maxa crew, the people who stopped for a song and stayed til the end— everyone and everything, I felt so completely thankful. And in that moment, it began to rain, the wind picked up and a massive storm rolled in, almost as if to say, “You’re welcome.”

just nearly one hour from this past friday in mexico city at one of my favorite spots "essex club". lately i've been feeling a bit stumped when faced with the "what kind of music do you play" question. if you could please let me know in the comments what kind of music this is, i would greatly appreciate it. regardless, i hope you enjoy it, even if you can't describe it.

Burning man 2024 was  a great burn, one for the books. This set features a lot of inspiration I got throughout the year and on playa, and as with anything on the playa, the mix I had “planned” for ended up being way different. I was graced with closing out the party on the Damavand art car at my home camp, Alborz at 9:45 and F. Surrounded by wonderful friends and magic, the experience was awesome. After my set, we took the art car to the trash fence for a deep playa adventure with Kraft Punk—Enamour and Dastan’s tribute to Daft Punk as part of a playful playa prank.

Live @ Alborz Thurs. Closing Set | Burning Man 2024 | Curious & Curiouser

This recording is from Norse Code's Post Man Burn party and it was my 5th gig of 7 this week. I went into it feeling completely run down, with no voice, surviving of cough drops and Propolis spray, exhausted and sleep deprived. But something about this camp and the people who make it up gave me such energy that all of that went out of the door once I got behind the decks. All of a sudden I was at 127 bpm bopping around like a new born baby in a bounce house. It ended up being my most fun gig and one of those gigs that reminds me why I love to do this. Uniting people on the dance floor and seeing everyones smiling faces and hearing the cheers of joy- there truly is no feeling like it! Thank you to Julia for inviting me and being such a supportive bad ass babe, and to Scott for hosting, for the campers and attendees, to my tour manager Richy (lol)  for the support in the booth, Chamboys, Anais, Maxxe, Andreyna +the crew for coming and ripping up the dance floor , and everyone else who was there to dance the night away. You are truly the MVPs! Hope to see you all on a dance floor soon! x Ali
