Carefully revisiting older edits of mine i thought i could make sound better 
Grandma Bill is now over 5 years old and was one of my first batch of edits signed by Masterworks Music
with 5 years more experience i hope this sounds better

Patapenka is a new disco-leaning alias from Minsk-based Uladzimir Patapenka, who has previously worked as LIPSKI. With 15 years music making experience under his belt including work as an Ableton Live instructor, he sure does know his way around a tune. He worked on these pieces over several months with vocalists, trumpeters and a cellist and as such they are layered tracks that work both in the club or at home. 'Children' is a warm and sunny one that transports you to a balmy Mediterranean coast line. 'First Dance With You' brings more jazzy vibes with Afro vocals and beautifully lush grooves while Latin feels dominate the slower sounds of 'La Playa'. 'What About This' is a blissed out and stirring instrumental with swooning strings and 'Canvas, Oil' shuts down with Rhodes laced funk. A sublime EP.

And here we already are, in the next, the third 12inch round of the Sonar Kollektiv/Daniel Grau remix orgy. This time Ray Mang, Soul Clap, Debonair and Trujillo together with Miguel Molina are in on it.
The Venezuelan six-piece combo Los Amigos Invisibles did re-record „ El León Bailarín” off Grau's album by the same title from 1980 and the UK disco king Ray Mang hand-crafted a bass driven, dubfunky slammer out of it. That's the music the most beautiful girls in town want to wiggle their hips to.
Sitting still will also be no option hearing the extra funked-up remix of “To Night” by US duo Soul Clap together with Bosq. This is, by the way, a brand new track by Daniel Grau (after a 30 years enduring creative sabbatical) and is up to now only available on „The Magic Sound Of Daniel Grau – compiled by Jazzanova & Trujillo” (SK281CD / LP).
The Australian Debonair comes in with his remix for „Atlantis“ (off Grau's 1979 released album „Disco Fantasy“) not less lascivious at all and pyramids the synth chords with added delays in a fashion you start to feel like somebody is pulling the rug out from under your feet. That was probably his initial intention and he succeeds brilliantly.
On the digital release you get another remix of „Delirio En Fa Menor” as a bonus track. On Reworks Vol. 2 (SK 289) there was already an adaption by Berlin based Max Graef and Delfonic. But while their remix could be assigned to the new school of beatmaking, the remix by Trujillo and Miguel Molina belongs explicitly in the crate labelled „Nu Disco“, right before the „Cosmic“ shelf.
This is the sexy sound of Venezuela today!

‘Shine (This Is It)’ is the first single from Soul Clap’s self-titled second album, a project that’s been four years in the making. An uplifting house music anthem, it features legendary vocalist Nona Hendryx and includes remixes from Dimitri From Paris and DJ Rocca aka Erodiscotique. 

Nona Hendryx is an original member of the trio Labelle who’s smash single “Lady Marmalade” is a timeless classic. Her solo singles “Transformation” and “Do What You Wanna Do” from the 80’s are equally prolific to her work as a back-up vocalist for a laundry list of legendary acts including Parliament-Funkadelic, Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel. There is magic contained in ‘Shine (This Is It)’ and the strength in Hendryx's vocal empowers our sprits and moves us on the dancefloor. Midnight Magic’s Morgan Wiley delivers an outstanding keyboard solo and fellow bandmate Jason Disu teams up with Kalí Rodríguez and No Regular Play’s Greg Paulus to form the Soul Clap horn section. 

Remixes come courtesy of Erodicotique a collaboration between Dimitri From Paris, the esteemed French producer who gained huge exposure in the mid 90's for his Playboy Mansion mix series and Sacreblue album and DJ Rocca, the modern Italo Disco master. Their main vocal and dubstrumental renditions take us back to the piano driven, Italo House sound of the 90’s with a classic loon sample to prick the ears of the old school. 

“Shine (This is It) started as an experiment using as many sounds from the Moog Sub37 as possible,’ explain Soul Clap, ‘We wanted to write something that felt as modern as it did retro, which is a typical frame of mind for us over here! It’s the big question how can you charge forward but always nod to the past? Shout out goes to Chuck “Tha Fonk” Fishman and Sa’D “The Hourchild” Ali from the Parliament-Funkadelic mob who put us in touch with Nona Hendryx. She was such a pleasure to work with and got into the groove of this record effortlessly.” 

Starting out cutting their teeth in the early rave scene in Boston, Soul Clap soon found fame through a series of house edits and became household names through notable releases including a DJ Kicks alongside close allies Wolf + Lamb. Their funky electronic sound, called EFUNK, earned them honorary entry into the Parliament-Funkadelic family and a release with George Clinton. As DJs they have played around the world and back again, with residencies at legendary venues like DC10, Output and the Electric Pickle.

With previous releases on Discoweey, Samosa Records and Tropical Disco Records, our italian Stallion 'Paul Older' strikes back on the Mandrill EP series with his 'Mondodisco EP' delivering 4 disco jewels influenced by music from all around the world. To start this journey 'Monkey Funkey' arrives with heavy trumpet riffs, retro organ chords and cheerful vocals making it a happy melody ready to hit the dancefloor. After it comes 'Los Caramelos' taking us back to the 70s decade in Spain with colorful flamenco-driven guitars, spanish vocals filled with joy and a classic disco bassline making it a unique blend perfect for peak hours. On the other side 'Mais' delivers a Brazilian boogie taste to the release with exceptional Portuguese vocals, smooth rhodes and classic samba on the rhytm section.
