Distilled, out July 15th on Gravitas Recordings, is a beautiful melodic track blending two amazing artists Edamame and Northern Form and their unique sound.  These artists have been making similar styles for some time now, with paths crossing multiple times through Loci Records and mutual fans.  Finally teaming up, these two created a serene track that anyone can enjoy.  This is just a sample of what will come when these two get in the studio again!

We both have this approach to music where the way we organize our drums and weave together elements creates an auditory experience that ungrounds people. “Distilled” begins with floaty strings and melodic vocal chops, creating a meditative soundscape captivating the listener.  It slowly brings in bass and crisp drums and builds tension without overpowering the original sounds and idea, further curating this relaxing state the listener is enveloped by.  Soothing string instruments and other melodies enter the song and it unwinds as smoothly as the tension was built, truly a track that can be left on repeat for hours.

[UPDATE] 

This album was originally organized with the idea to build a science lab at Shree Prabhat Higher Secondary School in Dhawa, Gorkha, Nepal. Unfortunately the 7.9 magnitude earthquake shook Nepal the day after release, destroying most of Dhawa, including the school. The country needs billions in funds to recover from this tragic event and in our small way, we are redirecting our efforts through this project to create a fund for rebuilding Dhawa. PLEASE consider donating to our cause in exchange for a cutting-edge music compilation and help us restore normality to a highly vulnerable community.

Chris Assaad and Mose are pleased to offer this beautiful collaborative effort coming deep from the hearts of a brotherhood formed through musical resonance. These two converged in Toronto (Chris’s home base) in the summer of 2018 when the seed was planted for collaboration. It is an adaptation of the original song written by Chris, weaving in newly recorded vocals and the added elements of Mose’s production including a bit of his flute. This newly revised version of the track took shape inside Mose’s personal retreat towards the end of 2018 and fully blossomed into the final offering that it is today during his following retreat in the fall of 2019. Both have dedicated themselves deeply to craft something touching that neither one could do alone. Maybe you can feel the essence of love and compassion in Chris’s words woven delicately through time by Mose’s signature touch.

Starting with the cold wailing melodies of downtempo openers, ‘Diamond’ and ‘Endless’, the EP gradually moves to the throat-singing-led experimental techno of ‘Ancestors Call’, before ending with ‘Sunrise Celebration’; a positive up-tempo blend of Siberian post-rock and electronica, in collaboration with Yakutian orchestra, Kyl Sakha.
