I made this song awhile ago. I had had a conversation with a man who I believed to be going through some kind of a mental break. It was a very strange conversation and it has always stuck with me. I heard these vocals and they immediately made me think of this conversation and I decided to try and put those feelings into a song.

This is what I believe it may be like inside of a broken mind.

Cyrus the Great, the founder of the Persian Empire, is remembered not only as a mighty conqueror but as a just and visionary ruler. He united nations with wisdom and fairness, earning the title of "The Father of Human Rights."

His legacy lives on through the Cyrus Cylinder, an ancient inscription written in cuneiform, often regarded as the world’s first declaration of human rights. In it, Cyrus proclaimed freedom of religion, the right to return to one’s homeland, and respect for all cultures.

To this day, the spirit of Cyrus stands as a timeless symbol of justice, freedom, and eternal greatness.

It is, once again, the most wonderful time of the year. For all of us struggling to feel like it's Christmas, let me whisk you away to a magical land for just a few moments with "Immanuel."

I chose to blend my favorite melodies from two songs: Carol of the Bells and Veni, Veni, Emmanuel (O Come O Come Emmanuel) into a seamless piece of music. Because of the complex nature of these songs, I decided not to include lyrics - rather to accentuate my favorite pieces of each song with cello, fiddle and mythical vocals. Anyone that knows me well, knows that I have a minor obsession with cameras. Specifically manual film cameras. So I decided to try and record all the sounds one of my cameras, a Mamiya 645, could possibly make, and turn them into a song. The majority of percussion in this song stem from that experiment.

"In the Distance" started with the simple idea of playing around with a woodblock's pitch. I liked how human it seemed to become once the pitch was constantly being automated, and then started this song based on that discovery.

Tom Day - Who We Want To Be

I wrote this track late at night a few weeks ago whilst I was taking a break from working on album and EP stuff. Was refreshing to work on something new after working on the same tracks for so long and because of that it all came together in just a few days. It probably sounds a bit rough around the edges compared to most of the other upcoming tracks, but honestly felt nice to make something and release it straight away without obsessing over details and imperfections for once. For those same reasons I'll probably end up hating it and not wanting to listen back to it again, but hopefully someone can get some enjoyment out of it
