Hundreds of drones scrambled beneath a swirling sky as they raced to finish the construction of their monolithic aluminum kin, a masterstroke of technological progress that aimed its apex directly at the eye of the storm above. For years the coming of this cataclysmic event had been known, and from that day the building of the metallic superstructure had begun, but the storm had come a day early and now threatened all of the progress that had been made. In a few short hours, the incalculable ferocity of the gale was set to be supercharged by a coinciding solar flare that would send the forces that churned within it into overdrive, creating a storm that could swallow the world.

Standing below in defiance to this outcome was the drones’ creation, a mass array of rocketry set to bear forth the greatest payload ever delivered from their world. Atop the ship’s stacks of thrusters was a massive satellite, dangerous in its own right for its ability to create conditions much like those that loomed above. Yet beyond the reaches of the planet’s atmosphere, this satellite would be the world’s single attempt to prevent their own destruction, a cosmic parry with only an hour-long window of effect. By emitting a vast amount of oppositely charged particles in the face of the oncoming flare, the satellite would rebuff the energy that threatened to amplify the already destructive storm to apocalyptic proportions. As the surface of the sun roiled with fusion wrought energy, the rocket shot up into the sky, and all on the planet bated their breath in the uncertainty of what would come next.

Following his appearance on EATBRAIN’s Divergence III compilation CHASER now makes his full debut on the label with BLASTPIT, an EP well-named upon the strength of the sonic power that is contained within. The five tracks of the EP feature explosive basslines combined with piercing percussion and an array of samples & synths that all share CHASER’s high-tech sound and promise to supercharge the fervor of the EATBRAIN horde.

Live Wire is a warping slab of hard hitting, neuro mix with a squelchy, jump up influenced bassline. Highly distorted synths twist through the body of the track weaving their way through layers of punchy stop-start hats and a thick soundscape full of techy hits. The ominous breakdown, laden with modulated vocals barely gives us a chance to catch our breath before we’re thrown back into the intoxicatingly relentless mix. Not one for the faint hearted Live Wire is ready to spark some serious energy in the dance.

Unbeyond Anthologies are pleased to present LUCID’s solo debut on the label in the form of her new EP, “Found Footage”.

Opening on a stark and desolate note with “on a dark and stormy night” that sets the tone for what is to come, this project mixes ghastly deathstep atmospheres and production with a thrilling retro futuristic horror theme. Songs such as “Good Intentions” and “Foreshadowing” throw their weight around with devastating impact, a seamless blend of old and new sonic textures.

“ALARM” slows down the pace with heaving sound design and wailing melodies, the tempo mirrored by the title track with its sinuous growls and anthemic synthwave leads. “Survive” contains frazzled flows and dizzying trap percussion, while the closer “Midnight (Credits)” ends on a delightfully ghoulish downtempo drop.

“My first EP since ‘BLOODSHED’ in 2021, and with a much more in-depth tracklist and theme. Speaking of, when starting the title track, I was very into GREYLOCK, an online analog horror with some found footage segments, with the title track directly themed to tape 10 of the series. The more general musical ideas and tone started finding their way into more of my projects of the time and continued to be fleshed out until I collected the songs and made the theme more concrete.” said LUCID. “Although not personally attached to me like my albums, I do find this to be a very important step in my music, so I hope it shows. Topped by a pair of dated hats, two trenchcoats loomed within the neon lit alleyway. Against the glowing backdrop of the city, their canvas forms were anachronistic, seeming to have stepped forth from the silver screens of a heyday long since past. So too unnerving was the silence with which they observed the scene before them, the disfigured and mangled robotic corpse which lay upon the dampened asphalt below. Collecting no evidence nor performing no noticeable forensics, the figures stood stock still as though shocked by that which lay before them. A murder of cold intention, somehow conducted despite the vicegrip of the security network that they represented. One might have expected such if viewing the scene at a certain angle, but in the eyes of the murderer hidden away on a nearby rooftop a different scene was portrayed.

A sole held breath escaped the murderer's mouth as he viewed the metallic investigators below. Mockeries of classical representations of his own form, their old fashioned garb did little to belie the inhuman appearance of what lay beneath. These beings of circuitry and alloy scanned the crime scene with impossible precision, imaging it’s every quality to be processed within the greater security mainframe. His single shot had been perfect, with no ammunition casing left behind, but still he worried at the mainframe’s powers of deduction. Mere moments after his robotic quarry had fallen these investigators had arrived, representing the mechanical law that now governed this once vibrant human city. He knew they would be here for hours, and that he could not move for fear of discovery during that time. Thus, in a murky corner of a soot stained rooftop the murderer hunkered in, blending into the shadows of the city’s dismal noir.

MNDSCP investigates intricate mechanical sonics with his latest PLOT HOLE EP on EATBRAIN, which follows 2019’s Hogzilla EP and a slew of other releases under his earlier Mindscape name on the label. PLOT HOLE sees MNDSCP in full force as he delivers four tracks driven by his signature tech focused sound within a thematically inspired sinister soundscape that invites the EATBRAIN horde to investigate their every undulation.
