Maximum City is really a song about loving life and feeling joy in the middle of the daily humdrum of a bustling city like Bangalore - which has transformed in the last 20 years from a small, sleepy retirement town, to one the fastest growing metro's in the world, and the Silicon valley of India.

It starts with the idea of moving to a new place, growing with it and then, years later, looking back to see how the place has changed and how one has changed with it without really knowing it or planning to. The feeling of belonging to a place and having a stake in it - becoming one with the place itself and the place being a part of oneself, is universal.

The words attempt to capture the notion that change is a natural fall out of urban development - be it New York, Shanghai or Bangalore - not necessarily a negative thing. Development is looked at by some folks as a bad thing - trees have to be felled for roads and buildings to come up - this song accepts change and goes with the flow to a better place, and with out realizing it, to a better person. And though places and people change, somethings still remain the same.

The song draws inspiration from a book by Sukethu Mehta with the same title - Maximum City - an extremly well researched and written account of the Author's journey away from the place of his home town (Bombay) to an alien upbringing in New York and then returning many years later to find his roots once again in the city of his birth.

Allegro Fudge’ is a contemporary acoustic band that plays original music which is in the process of being defined as a genre.

Our songs were recently listed in Broadjam.com’s Top 10 Contemporary Folk list and in their Top 10 Asia list. Also, we were among the 5 finalists at this year’s TFA awards and got a special mention for our music!

We recorded some of our songs which are available below for you to listen to. These were recorded long before our drummer joined us, so we sound a little different from what you hear! but the music should give you a good idea of what we are and where we are looking to go with our music.
