Lithuanian duo Far East Flight, formed by Adventure Society & Jokios Kultūros, is back on the eclectic and respected label Electric Shapes, this time presenting the remixes of their namesake album released in August 2021. “FEF RMX” brings a handpicked pure-talent selection of competent artists such as Tassilo Vanhöfen, Rambal Cochet, Kolomensky, Tadan, Anatolian Weapons, Neu Verboten, plus the duo members themselves who creatively decided to reinterpret their own work, just to name a few.

If the originals present a vastly wealthy soundscape, varying from Breakbeat and Downtempo to Goa Trance and Leftfield, the remixes go a little further by inserting other sonorities like, for instance, House and Techno.

Premiered here, Tadan’s version proves the point. The London-based producer decided to bring “Reivaz” to a less trippy and psychedelic realm. Brought to life originally in two Trance versions in the “Far East Flight” EP, the theme now comes wearing a more minimalistic, robust, and energetic attire – definitely dressed to kill!

Hailing from Croatia, Lab Personnel is a musical collaboration turned collective and label between many like-minded artists such as Goran Lautar (aka Neon Lies), Jasmin Mahmić (aka Le Chocolat Noir, Fiume & more), Luka Kurjan (aka Man of Cloth), Marijan Katić, Nikola Kos (aka Ikonal) and Saša Rajković (aka Zarkoff, part of Sumerian Fleet, part of Neugrau & more). Over the years, they would occasionally meet for and record lengthy sessions of improvisational music. 'Marked for Disassembly' is their latest output.

This time, deep within the skeletal remains of an abandoned chemical processing plant, eight of their members captured the disquieting essence of a world suspended between haunting melodies and forgotten industry. Immersed in an atmosphere of palpable musical anxiety, their machines oozed up a sonic alchemy of experimental EBM where strange syncopated drums meet with eerie acid lines and gooey textures.

"Marked for Disassembly" is set to be released on Mar 20th across all digital platforms, accompanied by a beautiful UV printed cassette.

The successful creative disco-graphic synergy continues between Simona Faraone’s label, New Interplanetary Melodies (NIM), and the artistic collective Kuro Jam coordinated by Gianluca Pernafelli.
After creating the two V/A sound-tracks, Kimera Mendax EP (NIMKurojam 001) and Kimera Mendax Vol.2 (NimKurojam002), for this third release of Kuro Jam Recordings line, the team assigned to the Rome producer T/ERROR - already featured on the second volume of Kimera Mendax series with two tracks (KX2048 on vinyl and Rising Tide in the digital re-pack) - the music version of the new,eponymous comic strip. The DATA SURFER of the title is a special mixer: among its controllers, in addition to those for sounds, there is one that reads, mixes and recomposes space-time.
What would happen if it ended up in the hands of a suburban hoodlum angry at the world and intoxicated by electronic music? The answer lies in an irregular and corrosive graphic journey that the graphic novel unravels in 6 chapters, in a symbiotic dialogue with the 6 vinyl tracks. In five temporal dimensions curated by five talented artists.
In two cities - Rome and Berlin - criss-crossed by pain, youthful passions, torments, desire for redemption, delusions, desire for life. And by a single, unstoppable sound-narrative flow that will sweep through the protagonists’ lives and caress the readers’ hearts.
The “out-of-sync soundtrack” curated by T/ERROR opens with the Drexcian elegance of Rising Tide (A1), already published in the digital version of Kimera Mendax, and now available for the first time also on vinyl, to continue in the wake of the title track Data Surfer (A2) with its powerful electro-acid tones. Last Brute in the firmament (A3) closes side A of the disc: in this track the Roman artist catapults us into a dense and epic atmosphere, ideal both for the smokiest dancefloors and for space chases. Minimum length (B1) opens the second side with a dark, mechanical-sounding track that may remind the listener of certain industrial-themed library music, while Redundant Flux Storm (B2) sounds like a journey through tension-filled atmospheres, evoking futuristic cityscapes and machines in eternal motion.
The B-side closes with the syncopated, liquid electro of Endless Wave (B3). To add further depth to this release we also have 3 bonus tracks exclusive to the digital version; Shadows (1), From The Deep (2) and Space Time Coordinates (3), which further explore the boundaries of the most intransigent and refined electro/techno, combining spacey and complex sounds that transport us into a crossmedia continuum of sounds and images that leave their mark.

'The Double Face of the Zero' revolves around the progressive crumbling of the human condition, trapped in a Babel of toxic languages, hypnotised by seductive as much as false myths. The traversed architectures are empty or abandoned; inside, only faint echoes of mechanical rhythms reminiscent/incubus of models destined for passive consumption and the reproduction of consensus. Babbling, bare syllables are all that remains of a one-way communication. The new alphabets of communication systems do not need expressive space but consensus time. This journey is closed, however, by a text that is, in its own way, full of hope and that, like a compass, indicates a possible escape route from this mortal spiral of spectacular-media-political consensus. The sound sources from which the work originates are multiple. 

All electronically processed so as not to show their origin, in order to place themselves in an “other” space. All this not out of sonic sadism but out of a desire to elaborate a sound palette that is as personal as possible. A palette of sounds that tries to place itself outside the fences and categories that delimit even the area of research music, which instead, by definition, should be as model-free as possible.
