'Aggelos first approached Lurid Music with the idea for this project a few months ago. We agreed on one condition, that all proceeds be donated to refugee causes, like we did with his Black Sea EP which supported the Syrian refugee crisis. When Russia invaded Ukraine, we decided our focus had to be helping the Ukrainian refugees who were forced to leave their homes in search of safe havens abroad.

We discussed this with most contributors to the project and the consensus was that donations should strictly go to humanitarian groups and not any armament funds. There were also some thoughts about helping conflict-affected peoples in other parts of the world but we decided it was too much to tackle for a relatively small project like this one.

Therefore, donations stemming from the sales of this release will be distributed to the following humanitarian groups currently active in Ukraine or neighboring countries welcoming refugees:

The artwork was provided by Bill Brown, a Maryland native who lives and works in Ukraine. When the war started, he made his way safely to Germany via Poland. This illustration is an homage to Maria Prymachenko’s “May That Nuclear War be Cursed!”, which also inspired the title of this release. Liberty serves as the closing act, a sonic plea for emancipation from the cold embrace of industrial gears. The track's pulsating energy builds to a crescendo, echoing the urgency of breaking free from the constraints of the mechanized world.
The EP also features remixes from two legendary figures in the electronic music realm—The Hacker and the dynamic duo of Mick Willis & Blackmoon77. Brace yourself as they deconstruct and reconstruct the mechanized symphony, adding their unique signatures to this sonic manifesto.
The vinyl's artwork, a depiction of marionettes suspended in the cold embrace of industrial gears, encapsulates the EP's thematic core. It's a visual metaphor for the dance between man and machine, a tango on the edge of automation.

This time the Prague label offers a split release on their sixth outing. Greek cuisine by DimDj & Scottish one by Stephen Lopkin are on the menu. Dimitri Evangelopoulos aka DimDJ is part of "Anopolis" & "Audio Atlas" groups that released terrific eps on "Mathematics" or "Lower Parts" imprints but he also produced some great tracks under his DimDJ moniker on "June Records". After he featured on Various #2, the Russian artist Yssue is back on KUMP with three, slightly incantational, Industrial/Tribalistic tracks.
In this EP, Dmitry Nekrotkov explores Nature and expresses his vision of the bonds which Mankind shares with It.
What's more? Two remixes. Ayaz, an artist from Azerbaïdjan and founder of the Yalançi label, delivered a Dub-Techno remix which will turn your brain upside down before chopping it in tiny bits.
The second remix was made by the Duo DJ PG, from Lauzanne (Switzerland). The two pals, both members of the group "La Sacrée Déter" revisited the track  "Lust" adding a Psyche-dubik touch to it. Perfect for a matinee on your sofa.

"My music is often a reflection of the state in which I am at a certain period of my life, since I grew up from a musical punk scene, this often involves a certain set of means of expression. In essence, I am in an endless struggle to express some quite lively and human emotions through the cold and artificial world of electronic sounds. That is why there is a lot of melody and sometimes even drama in my music, and this is why I'm often got bored with a static music.
This EP is called "Naturalist", a terms that defines a person who has devoted his life to the study of nature and its kingdoms. This directly relates to my strong belief that the further society advances, the more people are losing touch with nature, something that is real and to which they all belong."
