Production, recording, mixing, mastering. This song was spontaneously recorded with little rehearsal time. The musicians worked intensively with the arrangement and made it sound a lot more thoroughly planned out than what it was. This was my first true rock mix so there are a handful of things I would do differently if I were to redo this mix. However I am happy with the overall energy and that I was able to keep the excitement of the session in the final stereo file. I worked with the songwriters and guitarists who had specific demands on the type of sound they wanted and in the end I was able to get pretty close to their desired sound. We experimented with the mic placement on the guitar cabs to create separation and definition before hitting the mix stage, which involved placing the rhythm guitar mic a lot more off center than the lead guitar mic.
