From the back of the theatre stalls, she watched intensely, unable to tear her gaze away from the performance playing out on stage. The group of dancers moved so effortlessly, as if they were floating on air. Their limbs intertwined with one another creating beautiful shapes and figures upon the white backdrop; each silhouette as elegant as the next. She was totally beguiled by their movement, how their motion was so attuned - it felt like they were one entity, weightlessly flowing in unison.

Kalam Hub marks the fifth release on Palms Trax's Cooking With Palms Trax (CWPT) label, a platform for his own music and like-minded contemporaries. Conceived by Dublin-based producer Moving Still, the six-track EP continues his sonic exploration of his Saudi Arabian and Irish heritage that we've previously heard on a stellar collection of 12" edits and releases for Jive Hive and Nail Shop. A master of melody and rhythm, Moving Still marries traditional Middle Eastern melodies and tight, driving bass lines with a sprinkling of his varied influences from Italo and dub to breakbeat and electro.

We love working with local fellow music makers and this one has been long in the works but finally we are pleased to be dropping Serendipity by one of the Doodle members, Tim Shaw aka Amuse Bouche. 5 tracks of varying sounds with a common dance floor aimed trend, from straight up disco tackle to left of field broken beats business. This is a pretty awesome offering that is steeped in Mancunian night life vibes for those that prefer a non-Instagram focused night out.

Starting off comes a top shelf cover version of one of the catchiest cross over tracks ever! Acapella sees Lady Lady feature on vocal duties of ‘that’ ear worm which she does a stunning sonic workout for some big sing-a-long scenes for the dance floor. Big unashamedly party business!

Serendipity goes all jacking & wonky with some 80’s style breakdance beats alongside synth lines & rumbling bass notes which builds around a stuttered vocal sample before dropping to deliver the goods. Mutant-Cosmic-Breakdance is the order of the day here.

Night Drive slows things all the way down and takes off across the neon lit highway in a white Lamborghini to the cosmic outer reaches. Dreamy & ethereal in equal measure with a touch of The Cure if they were fully electronic. One for the sundown sets when you need to create utter bliss.

Pastiche throws a net over all things left of centre to create a straight up peak time slammer. Scattered drums & percussion with a jungle loop undertone, stuttered vocal sample (which may be familiar) ad bags of energy to create a real roof raiser.

Take It Easy finishes of the E.P. and is a large helping of Italo inspired Nu-Disco style shenanigans with probably the most hookiest vocal we’ve ever been involved with. All slightly wobbly but in all the right places and ready to be dropped for some peak time smoke filled situations.

Doctr is no stranger to the Bordello. Now You Can Fly is his third visit to the label, his first with company. Paired with Julia, the offering is pure peak-time elation. Bending bars are cut through by beats and synth stabs, Doctr building a palpable energy with vocals synergising perfectly. Daring key shifts unveil the full track, inspirational words and melodic wizardry waltzing arm-in-arm. Flying ever higher, electrical pulses of hi-nrg jolt this dancefloor burner. Julia’s vocals are parred back for the flip, leaving those sun-kissed synthlines to soar above calypso-infused percussion. Two works of sheer happiness; just what the Doctr ordered.
