Tomorrow is the day! ✨ I can’t wait to finally share the ‘Club Entry’ Vol. 1 compilation with you all 💕 but first we have our last track preview from one of my favourite producers I discovered last year. His tracks have become staples in my sets since last summer and I’m so pleased to have him involved! None other than Club Winston 🍧💓

Rounding off the compilation is Club Winston's blissed out electro track 'Automatic Club Winston'. A pumping drum pattern goes alongside uplifting synths and a playful bass which transport us to the end of the night 'lights on' moment of pure euphoria 💫⭐️💫

No Pain / More Gain 005 b2b Matheson

"Compliments is a non-binary dance music producer from Huddersfield, based in London. Their work is heavily influenced by the percussive UK styles of jungle, garage and bassline, with a pinch of nü-metal’s distortion and adolescent energy thrown in for good measure.

Tomgirl, their newest release on Mantissa, showcases these stylistic influences across four tracks that move between wonky 4/4 techno, amen-heavy jungle, spacey 140 and swampy chugging house, playing with the idea of floating somewhere between masculinity and femininity, hard and soft.

After experimenting with samples of their own voice on their debut album ‘The place where my voice should be’ (self-released in March 2022), the EP builds on this technique to create eerie atmospherics and strange rhythms in a more club-focused and dance floor orientated zone.

Tomgirl is topped off with a remix by Bristol’s Bex, channeling a potent strain of bassy, stepping techno that her productions and DJ sets have become famous for."

Ross Harper said: ‘Narcissist' is inspired by my time in the organised evangelical church, where I came across some very well meaning individuals, but actually the agenda was very controlling. I grew up in a single parent family with just my mum around, and I associate more with the feminine than the masculine, in the end, although I have a serious faith in God, I found the male dominated evangelical church very oppressive to my spirit. Interestingly when I challenged the male leadership regarding issues of why homosexuals were not allowed to be church members I met severe opposition, they wrote me a letter asking me to justify my beliefs against scripture, so I decided it was time to leave that chapter of my life.

’Narcissist’ is taken from Ross Harper’s forthcoming ’The Dark Album’ released on City Wall Records on 31 October. Ross Harper’s supporters include Slam, Kolsch, Maceo Plex, Charlotte de Witte, Jennifer Cardini, Skream, John Digweed, and Local Suicide.
