The Boom Bang - TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLEZ

Witch Hunt have joined the ranks of the Bat with their third and finest full-length yet. Formed in 2001 as a New Jersey trio, the band soon moved their brand of aggressive punk to Philadelphia where they expanded their lineup to a four-piece and have continued to evolve their sound as abilities caught up to ideas. That progression is evident in their Alternative Tentacles debut, Burning Bridges to Nowhere, which blends the primal rage of hardcore, the melodic sense of Husker Du, and the moodiness of UK peace-punk into an album that will leave genre-purists scratching their heads and have all fans of hardcore punk walking and rocking together a little more often.
 
Fans of Alternative Tentacles' BlackNoise imprint and groups like I Object, Nausea, and even Disaster Strikes will love this, but anyone into melodic punk with screaming female vocals will also dig it. The LP includes an insert and a printed inner sleeve, and the CD comes in a handsome multi-panel digipack.

My Neighbor Hates Me - Narcoleptic Youth

Mengawali karir sebagai kelompok sound performance, fashion show, pesta kembang api dan seni rupa, Sangkakala hadir dalam balutan musik rock Indonesia era tahun 1980-an. Band yang mulai berkibar tahun 2005 ini hadir dengan formasi: Baron Kapulet Araruna sebagai vokalis, Ikbal Lubys pada gitar, Rudy Atjeh pada bass dan Tatsoy pemain drum.

Dalam perkembangannya, musik yang ditawarkan tak lagi sekedar bergaya retro dan terbuka terhadap referensi musikalitas masa kini. Sangkakala bukan hanya mengajak para pecinta rock untuk bernostalgia tapi hadir lebih kreatif. Aransemen lagu dirajut dengan gaya sound masa kini, namun aksi panggung dan fashion mengadopsi era glam-rock dalam konteks lokal. Seperti gaya rambut mullet, sepatu hi-top dan legging berwarna terang.

Tahun 2010 Sangkakala merilis mini album live berjudul 'Macanista' yang didistribusikan gratis melalui netlabel Yes No Wave Music. Didalamnya berisi 5 lagu dan 1 lagu versi karaoke. Rekaman live tersebut diambil pada event seni rupa Jogja Biennale X lalu, dimana Sangkakala merupakan salah satu seniman yang diundang dengan menggelar project seni lintas disiplin ‘Macanista’. Project ini terdiri atas beberapa workshop seperti glam-rock hairstyling, custom costume dan fans attribute berupa poster, flyer dan banner yang kemudian diakhiri dengan konser tunggal di Amphitheatre Taman Budaya Yogyakarta. 

Pada bulan Oktober 2012 ini Sangkakala akan meluncurkan single berjudul ‘KANSAS’. Kata ‘KANSAS’ merupakan kependekan dari Kami Anak Nakal Suatu Saat Akan Sadar, bercerita tentang akronim urban yang biasa dicoretkan di dinding-dinding kampung, baju sekolah dan gitar-gitar para pengamen di tahun 1990-an. Akronim tersebut tidak hanya dimaknai sebagai pesan moral dan optimisme kehidupan anak muda jalanan, namun lebih dalam lagi sebagai retrospeksi terhadap potret budaya urban anak muda di Indonesia. Konsep aransemen yang bergaya live diciptakan untuk merepresentasikan Sangkakala sebagai sebuah band yang memiliki karakter performance yang esensial.
