Guest Mix from No Entropy

No Entropy is a Russian-born electronic music artist, based in Toronto, Canada. She was captivated by the sound of electronic music, and the techniques of sampling used by Yello in 1997. This marked the beginning of her lifelong love story with the vast world of electronic music.

When DJ’ing live, her sound can be described as dark, deep, and sexy; characterized by deep basslines, percussive progressions, trippy vocals, and grooves that one can lose themselves in. She loves the complexity of layering sounds, and creating a feeling of magic, and a feeling of being somewhere else, like in another dimension, or in a trance through music.

As Amber scrolled through the archives of her phone, she stumbled upon a forgotten voice note, recorded a year ago, Feb 16, 2023. It was a relic from a time of epic life transformations and after taking the daring leap to travel solo to the other side of the world as a woman. As she listened, a rush of emotions overwhelmed her and she felt the need to share this with Mapped Out Radio listeners. 

The once timid voice on the recording was now infused with a newfound confidence, echoing the journey of self-discovery and empowerment she had embarked upon. In that moment, Amber realized the depth of freedom and independence she had gained by taking chances and believing in herself. Each step she took, each challenge she conquered, was a testament to the joy and fulfillment that comes from embracing uncertainty and embracing one's own strength.

For this reason, she shares this intimate voice note and train of thoughts with us for this episode of Instagram vs. Reality.

From the bustling streets of Toronto, Amber Long makes waves with her signature sound. Supported by top-tier artists and blessed with a voice that soothes souls near and far, she has charmed audiences across countries such as Australia, the USA, the UK, the Netherlands, Greece, Spain, Qatar, Mexico, Argentina, Jamaica, and her throughout her homeland, Canada. She's smashed through the glass ceiling with her music and collaborations, which have been signed to multiple prestigious labels. 

Amber's passion for spinning is not limited just there; not only does she travel everywhere but also runs an independent label Modern Agenda - an independent label home to producers who are being championed for their work in Progressive House and Melodic Techno, primarily.  

Amber launched the LIA Series in 2021, a series of guest mixes highlighting up-and-coming female and female-representing artists from around the globe. Amber has also been hosting Frisky Radio's Rogue Radio Show since 2017 and has been involved with The Canadian Juno Awards for many years now.  

With music coursing through every vein of hers; it's easy to see why Amber believes in its power to heal us all.

Melbourne based vocalist/producer eM is an accomplished artist in the EDM scene with several self produced albums and EPs over the last 15 years, alongside over 50 singles with various producers available on Beatport. 

Having started singing at the age of 6 and writing her first song at the age of 13. When other kids were out playing in the yard she was cutting up cassette tapes and making her own mega mixes of her idols at the time - Wham, Madonna and Michael Jackson.   

eM moved to Australia at the age of 18 and in the year 2000 Melbourne became her home to pursue her love for music. She has been involved with acoustic duos, singing with house and trance DJs, involved in a breakbeat duo, ran her own small club/party nights and did voiceovers for community and commercial radio stations such as Kiss Fm Melbourne and the Austereo Network.   

Her first EDM release was with an Italian producer Roby Mannarini ‘I got love’ in 2008. From thereon eM has released trance, progressive house, house tracks with numerous producers from around the globe. The 2nd release with Amsterdam born trance producer MaRLo ‘Capture’ hit no.1 on Trackitdown for 5 consecutive days in early 2010 followed by another hit track ‘People Under the Sun’ with French producer ‘Jerome Zambino’ which ruled Beatports top 10 with 3 of the mixes of this track in the trance and progressive charts for a couple of weeks.   

eM started writing and producing her own material with her debut EP ‘Experience' releasing in 2008. Alongside producing, eM, she has co directed all her videos with Melbourne’s Hit66 Sound and Screen video production. With her first international gig in France 2008 alongside DJ producer Jerome Zambino, eM now does her own solo gigs using Ableton Live triggering percussion samples as she sings covers of popular sings mixed in with her own over progressive instrumentals. This live performance concept was debuted in Liverpool, UK in 2018 followed by a 2 year residency at Double Oaks Estate, a vineyard in regional Melbourne. 

ADE 2023 eM opened up an all woman DJ event (LIA Series) organised by Modern Agenda Music (Canada) at Kashmir Lounge in the heart of Amsterdam with a return gig for 2024.
