Wehbba makes a triumphant return to Bedrock with his 'Stay Right’ EP. The Barcelona based Brazilian delivers yet more sizzlingly melodic Techno on this new three track outing. Again confirming why he’s one of the most popular and inform producers of the moment.

Obsessed with 'futuristic techno’, lead track ‘Plurpush’ finds Wehbba using an array of analogue hardware and digital fx as he seeks to match his futuristic flavour with the old school textured sounds. “I was jamming with my Moog synth and working a simple kick before cutting it down and adding layers to create a more interesting arrangement. I’m really happy with how it turned out.”

“The inspiration for 'Stay Right’ came from listening to a raw acapella. I caught a small section and saw the potential for of building a groove. I also experimented with a using a phaser across the whole mix, which i’ve never done before.” This phasing, together with his pounding drum pattern and piercing bongo’s have all come together to create an amazing soundtrack.

Final track ‘Trust’ sees Wehbba using guitar and live drums, juiced up with subs from his synths all building around a straight vocal loop. "Trust is kinda meant as a response to the futuristic vibe of Plurpush, with its organic groove being built using the live instruments. Its extremely infectious and works in any dancefloor situation.”

The latest installment from Roam Recordings comes from the impeccable Belgian producer Cabaret Nocturne who has previous releases on labels such as Beachcoma, My Favorite Robot, Nein, Factor City, and Rotten City. Cabaret Nocturne has been penning fusions of ‘80s pop, dark basslines, and unhinged house beats since the mid-noughties. His new EP for Roam Recordings is a fine addition to his already excellent discography. The title track "Western Ghost" sets the stage for this EP that sounds like it could be from a movie set somewhere in the desert outside of LA which makes it a perfect fit for a West Coast American label. The other original track "Lost Town" brings that idea home with its added guitar and surfer vibe key changes.

The Western Ghost EP also come with two excellent remixes from the likes of Kieran Holden and Damon Jee. Both of these accomplished producers take on one of the originals and deliver their own spin within the theme of this EP. Kieran Holden has a slew of excellent releases on labels such as Tici Taci, Play Pal, My Favorite Robot, Nein, and Rotten City. And Damon Jee also has a prolific discography on labels Blindetonation, Emerald and Doreen, Logical, Discotexas, and Rotten City. Be on the lookout for a solo EP from Damon Jee on Roam Recordings under his alias NOZZ (out later this Fall).

All four tracks on this EP come together to form an incredibly cohesive and easy to play EP from three solid producers that are shaping the sound of today’s dance music.

Milan based collective Just This present the ‘Enter The Block’ EP from label mainstays Hunter/Game due November 2nd as a digital-only release. Featured in this five-track package are two remixes from Cassegrain and Amandra.

Title track is a minimalist roller featuring subtle acid inflections and a pointillist melody. For their remix, Cassegrain morph the unfurling hypnotism of the original into something more twisted, punctuating its cyclic nature with drawn out tones and frenetic rhythms.

‘Second Floor’ is an exercise in restraint, slowly building around one motif that swirls in and out of focus above stripped back percussion. Amandra provides an unexpectedly angular interpretation for his remix, repurposing the original into a molecular structure of atonal textures driven forwards by marching percussion.

Closing off the EP, ‘Explore’ revolves around a tiny, glistening melody, teetering on the edge of something bigger in a way that builds a brooding tension.

Floating in the depths of space, Astral Void is an ethereal incantation conjuring up images of cosmic dust as it fills the emptiness; a veil of paralyzing blissfulness. 

Chasm then entices into an orphaned rogue planet, swallowing into the gravitational pull and accelerating down to the terrestrial sphere. But the tumbling doesn't stop at the surface; a gaping cleft extends the descent, plunging deeper towards the planetoid's scorching core.

Troma & PERS1 - Chasm (Preview) - AQR014

After the success of the Slam + Gary Beck (Alliances 1) release, Slam welcome friends and peers Pan-Pot to the next phase of their 'Alliances' series. 

Slam & Pan-Pot have shared the stage at many an occasion whether it be at Slam's Pressure or Return To Mono nights at The Arches & Sub Club respectively, or at the Mobilee Rooftop or Poolside parties, Off-Sonar. Pan-Pot have also remixed Slam's 'Room 2' & 'Lifetimes' tracks while Slam have reworked Pan-Pot's 'Face To Face' & 'Confronted' tracks. Their sounds are well matched, as are their personalities. 

'Media' brings the drive, swing and melody that both pairs of producers do so well. Twisting and turning through delayed FX and doubling drums, 'Media' swells until it hits an epic bass sequence at the tracks half-way mark before dropping back to a stripped groove.

When the two acts combine they are most certainly a formidable force. 'Media' is the perfect example of this.
