From playing D&B vinyl in his student bedroom to gigging round London as part of the eclectic Pogo DJs, Shakes has honed his DJ skills and now takes on the production world. While retaining influences from a mix of electro, ghetto house, garage and dubstep Shakes has initially gone back to his roots in the breakbeat scene with his music making.

Inspired by many years of clubbing at breakbeat nights, dancing at festivals and listening to The Space Cowboys I decided it was time to step up to the mixing plate last year at a festival called Nowhere, the European version of Burning Man. After all we do own a Pirate Ship art car complete with sound system and put on some awesome parties at events around London and beyond as part of the Suck My Rock collective (www.suckmyrock.com)!

Achieving my New Years resolution to smash a set at our sound camp Super Barrio Brothers was amazing. The smiles, people dancing on speakers leaping all over the place I knew I had to do it again and so it began...I have continued the burning theme by playing sets at London Decompression, Suck My Rock fundraiser, Royal Ruckus - a new burner friendly night in London - and most recently at Berlin Bar - the Berlin decompression party. They all know how to party!!!

So press play, turn it up LOUD and bust some shapes wherever you are to the new genre looking to sweep the world...Boink music!!!
