Sunset Lullaby

The beginning of this song is the Gayatri Mantra - a sanskrit chant that basically means "you are the source, please illuminate my heart".  It's a prayer for enlightenment and is chanted by millions of people daily, usually I think at sunrise and sunset.
One evening, at a period in my life when I was burnt out and desperate, I was in that place when I was too tired to sleep and too tired to do anything else.  I decided that playing guitar would make me feel better.  I chanted the gayatri mantra for about 20 mins and then a thought occurred to me - if the source could illuminate my mind in plain english that I could understand what would it say?
The english words in the song are the answer that I received.
I'm so glad this song resonates for so many people, it just shows me our hearts are all the same...

The Divine Mother is everywhere.

She is in everything.

Interview:

1.	What have you been working on last months?

Over the last months Polytone has been working on their own Radioshow. Guest mixes so far were made by Ian Pooley, Matthias Vogt and Ed Davenport amongst others. This is a monthly installation in which Nico and his new found label partner Florian (he joined in the middle of 2011) provide the world with their view of electronic music. Polytone also released quality music made by Ed Davenport, Oliver Deutschmann, Matthias Vogt and Paulo Olarte. More good stuff is planned for 2012 with several artist new to the label but known in the world of electronic music are about to release on Polytone.  Another project we are working on are the label nights. More to come about this in 2012.

2.	What can you tell us about your evolution from the first releases to the latest?

There are two dimensions to answer this:
First is the artist ans label side. As a label we have grown and found ways to work things out easier now, than in the beginning. We got better hold of the business side. Also the artists have grown either with or besides the label or we were able to get more prolific producers to release on the label.
Second to this is the music. The sound of Polytone has always been different from other labels. It´s not about what fits best at this moment, but what is timeless, quality music. We would still release "The Walk" EP (by Andreas Heiszenberg) today, if we hadn´t done it way back in the beginning of Polytone. :)
So in a way we had very much progress in how to deal with the music market etc. And on the other we stick to the basics, which is to release timeless, quality music, no matter what. 

3.	What can we expect about the mix?

The mix as such is a joyful ride showing the people what I´m about. It´s all about quality, timeless music. No matter if brandnew or classic. I´ve put some Polytone stuff in there, some stuff of people we know and stuff that I love like the Jovonn release. It gives you a good impression of what you can expect from me as a DJ and from Polytone as a label.
