Garfield Grazing on Long Grass

Wollongong’s Pog gifts us the fourteenth Lost Sundays Session.

A member of Cove Soundsystem, Pog has been making waves down south since taking out the Lost Paradise DJ Comp in 2019. He’s since been booked at festivals such as Yours & Owls and Last Dance NYE, and supported the likes of Jensen Intercepter, Partiboi69, Wax’o Paradiso and DJ D.Dee.

Pog’s mix spans the likes of Liquid Earth, Bliss Inc. and Andrew Weatherall over the course of 60 minutes. In his own words:

""I open with a track from the late Andy Weatherall. It's one of my favourites by him and I think it blends nicely with the rest of the mix.  

Also included are a bunch of tunes from US-based artists. I have just recently returned after spending a month there and found a lot of these tracks when I was checking out local parties. 'Scope Zone' by Liquid Earth (a.k.a Urulu) is included in the mix and is a standout. I came across him at a warehouse party in Downtown LA and immediately fell in love with his sound. 

Finally, a quick shout out to the second last track - 'Twister' by UK-duo, The Drumattic Twins. It comes from their late 2000's record 'Hammer and Tongs' which is full of electro club bangers (album tip!). Every time I hear it I get excited by the idea of playing it in a club.” - @ppogg

'Elfin Glamour' is a delicate balance of feel-good melancholia, as the Berlin-based synth wiz comes forward with innovative sample flips over intricate melodies, as per usual. The EP includes 'Deep Trance City' and 'Girl Who Dreamed Tomorrow', two unearthed DAT recordings from 2002, bringing new life to 20 year old songs.

SHUT OFF NOTICE emanates from an inspired connection of the not-so-far apart worlds of Social Work and Underground Dance Music. Focusing on varied styles of expression within House and Techno and other forms of dance, SHUT OFF NOTICE presses a line quality, up and coming artists with Midwest mindsets to dance floors.  It’s name is derived from the social justice approach championed by Label Head RARELIFE who seeks to give back and support local resources for vulnerable youth. A Housing Case Manager by day, his work with Columbus, Ohio youth runs almost a decade deep. When it was time to find a program to work with KALEIDOSCOPE YOUTH CENTER was a natural fit. 
Kaleidoscope is an emergency drop in center for LGBTQIA+ youth  throughout Ohio that assists with numerous resources including help with Utilities costs, calling back to the name SHUT OFF NOTICE.  A portion of every sale is donated to Kaleidoscope to support their mission.
