From time to time he found himself lost within his own train of thought. They weren't fantasies or dreams but inner visions, predictions of the future in which the world around him was very different.

For a start, it was all green. Everything, everywhere was radiant and glowing in the warmth of the sunlight and wild plants, leaves and trees were all around.

Then there were the people dancing, they moved freely beneath the warm glow and merged with the shadows which separated their celestial bodies. He wished it might never end but soon enough these visions would end, only to be replaced with the stark grey of reality.

Yore Records are set to release an inspired EP by Dj Compufunk. This one is all about showcasing house music at its very best. Tracks crafted with precision and uplifting, euphoric melodies designed to produce serotonin.

With 2021’s much loved “Vinland In Space Ep (JR001)” under their belt, the Pakistan/Thailand outfit Jugaar Records crew are back with close friend and collaborator, Bangkok born and bred DOTT, whose “Puppy Luv” EP marks their second release.

The DJ/Producer has been in fine form lately with releases on BLKMARKET amongst others, as well as opening a vinyl record store with his More Rice gang in Bangkok – the city's first specializing in house and techno.

Having enjoyed a relatively lockdown free 2020, this year has seen more restrictions in the capital. Using his time wisely DOTT has regrouped, reflected and poured his energy into new and exciting ventures.

The record consists of four dancefloor cuts primed for club action.

The opener “What Am I Gonna Do” employs DOTT’s typical swing mechanics in a tough yet breezy jam, perfect for late-night into morning situations.

"Spacey Mango” is a peak-time groover with a squelchy acidic bassline that pulsates with increasing wildness, tempered by clinical synth stabs.

On the B-side “Puppy Luv” takes a deeper tone with spacey chords and bleepy synth picks, it’s a roller!

Finally, “Puppy Luv” is given the “FLiP” by the legendary Titonton Duvante. An early supporter of DOTT’s music, the Ohio based DJ takes the Bangkokian’s parts, adds a cheerful melody and employs his signature ever-evolving arrangement technique.

For it’s fourth instalment Dublin imprint 393 welcomes Dylan Forbes to the fold, and with this comes the labels first solo 12”. Forbes is an up and coming Irish producer and for his debut on 393 delivers an EP that fits in perfectly with the label’s previous releases, melding house, techno, bleep and acid sounds across 4 songs.  

Opening with the suitably-titled Hypnotise,  Forbes is at his most restrained, teasing with a broken beat rhythm and svelte minor chord progression before the acid starts to seep in underneath the timeless groove, eventually stripping the track back to just the 303 and drums.  
For the midsection of the release those familiar with the sounds of Transmat-era Aril Brihka and the 3rd wave of Detroit-inspired techno will find much to love in the driving progressions and ethereal soundscapes of Starburst and the slamming chords of Trip 2 Jupiter which really gives this record a classic feel 
Inspiral closes out the EP with the releases most dancefloor heavy cut, taking its cues not just from classic Detroit but also the rave-inflected bleep & acid sounds of Sheffield, while always keeping a strong melodic temperament. 393x04 is not only designed with the club in mind but across it’s 4 songs has many moods to fit the floor depending on the time and stage of the night. One can’t ask for much more than that...

Times are unprecedented. We all have a basic understanding of the history of our planet, but now we are truly living in one of the darkest periods wherein we cannot see a clear path out. As an individual it often seems dishearteningly difficult to help aid in humanitarian efforts, but as we stand with Ukraine and understand the importance of assisting them in any way possible, we've decided to do our part by putting together a digital compilation entitled ‘Club Unity’.

It contains a diverse feast of artists that inspire us, and tracks that make you feel. Signature Haŵs vibrations touching on prog, trance and even reaching the realms of the jungle. But most importantly, all proceeds will go to the incredible platform 'WithUkraine', which consolidates international efforts in raising funds to provide humanitarian support to Ukraine and its people. 

As humans and music obsessives we stand in solidarity with life and not with those who are determined to irreparably damage the fragile fabric of humanity.
