Gladstone Deluxe is one of the most exciting musicians in the US right now. They make futuristic, deep, percussive yet smooth techno, deep house and electro. They also play timbales in NYC queer and trans salsa band Las Mariquitas, and are a frequent collaborator with fellow East Coast sonic trailblazers Kiernan Laveaux, Johnny Zoloft, and Mira Mira. They have released on Black Techno Matters, Data Disk, Misc, Innocent Music, How Things Are Made, and now Fixed Rhythms is excited to add to the Gladstone lore with their new offering, “No Haterade EP”.

A1 “Cleanse” is zippy tech-y house...think groovy, up-beat, sexy, like something you’d hear in a Titonton Duvante set. A2 is a remix, “Teakup - Where’s My Snare (Gladstone Deluxe Remix)”. Now the EP takes a turn towards psychedelic electro. Spacey trippy vocal manipulations, swelling deep space gravitational waves swelling and resolving. The B side opens with the “No Haterade” track. Arpeggiated electro that slaps with swagger. The final track is a longer, 9 minute driving deep housey techno tune. A bass line that you never want to stop, luscious pads, brain-tingling pings, melodic percussive synth runs, and a touch of acid.

It ventures boldly through a rich tapestry of sounds and textures, each track born not from rigid intention but from an unrelenting pursuit of the elusive, those shimmering, transient spaces in the soundscape, like the mysterious limbo of Vaalbara. The music unfolded live, forged in real-time with an arsenal of synthesizers. In these moments, delicate interactions gave way to sudden storms of chaotic experimentation, the machines pushed beyond their thresholds, revealing hidden voices at the edge of collapse. This album is more than a collection of tracks, it’s an open invitation. Step inside, and perhaps you’ll find yourself tapping into the same emotional landscapes that Ruben traversed while creating it: wonder, vulnerability, and the thrill of discovery in the unknown.

Delsin invites you to submerge into the prismatic electronica of Xenia Reaper. Across nine tracks of exquisitely rendered sonics, the shadowy producer engages in the time-honoured craft of introspective sound manipulation, folding gaseous pads into dissected breaks and running heavyweight machine pulses through achingly beautiful synthesis.

Xenia's work makes a striking impression, and they've left a breadcrumb trail of self-released transmissions on their own Xenoplex platform alongside a more forthright appearance in 2024 on the always-essential INDEX:Records. The sound is sharply realised, modernist music that revels in the finegrain detail afforded by technology, but never at the expense of warmth and charm. It's nuanced electronica for deep listening, but it also hits on an instinctive, physical level.

For Nept Polarisation, an exacting selection process took place to comb through the prolific swathes of material coming out of the Xenoplex studio. It was primarily written in their Eurorack system and Max For Live between 2020 and 2025. You can hear the shifting, expressive flair of modular manipulation and the advanced acrobatics of Max sound design throughout, with needlepoint rhythmic interference puncturing through blissful cloud blooms of melodic ambience.

Bending and folding through non-linear structures according to their internal logic, Xenia Reaper offers up a three-dimensional sound world with more than enough presence to hint suggestively at the soundsystem.

Jude Greenaway joins Analogical Force with ‘E.OneSeven EP’. Some might already know ScanOne from past releases on Combat Recordings and Yellow Machines. Intricate breakbeat treatments with crisp electronica melodic edits, twisted future hardcore and London-bred basslines…the sound of ScanOne in 2018. 

On the b-side the Conner brothers reappear after a long silence as Bitstream, to twist ‘Re-Turn’ into the darker dystopian side. Fans of solid underground music take note.
