Monix, the alias of live musician, producer & DJ, Lance Blaise, has over 25 years in the industry. Monix has amassed a staggering catalog of music and original productions recorded under many different monikers/aliases.

Unconcerned with conventional elements of modern techno, Monix's live modular sets embody relentless and pummeling industrial sounds. Focus is spent on developing dense drones and harsh noise walls with distorted vocal elements and heavily distorted kicks which forcefully defy a 4x4 structure.  All of his live sets are improvised “off the cuff” with nothing planned out ahead of time.  Monix believes this allows every live experience to be an individual creation of sound.

A self-confessed ‘tech geek,’ Monix’s productions remain to be composed of all analog gear. His live performances consist of his modular hardware setup, but he is also known for his marathon hybrid DJ sets combining digital controllerism paired with analog gear.

It is fairly well known that Monix is legally blind, but he has still managed to adapt his live sets, productions & DJ techniques to overcome this battle.  He also is very active in providing support and advocacy for other visually impaired artists, and he has assisted in developing software and hardware to make this journey easier for new and veteran visually impaired musicians and DJs.

MELANIA . is a Berlin based artist who’s musical adventure began by the end of 2014. Since then she regulary plays Europewide and well known clubs like Tresor, about:blank, IFZ, Arena Club or last but not least, Suicide Circus, where she is a frequent host of the widely known Rituals series. Moreover she’s co-organizing the Industrial/Wave party series VERZERRUNG at the the renowned Project Lab in Poznan and also Melania is a frequent resident at Hirscheneck in Basel.

She has performed alongside infamous artists such as Ancient Methods, Kangding Ray, SNTS, Rich Oddie, Codex Empire, Jonas Kopp, Norman Nodge and many more. Above all that, she is firmly focused on her own productions, which so far have been released on aufnahme+wiedergabe, Oraculo Records, Subsist Records and Labrynth.

Melania musically delights in dirty and energetic Industrial, Techno, EBM, Electro and New Wave, means heavy genres which she periodically combines with a creative touch of uplifting and emotional melodies or vocals.

This sound evokes what is beyond the words, reaches directly to the heart and unleashes the soul. Each of her sets is a story with a complex plot, keeping her audience in constant suspense and anticipation. Her unique vibe releis on unpredictability and constantly being on the move.

Our thirty-second podcast is a mix of Japanese artist Ryuji Takeuchi.

Ryuji Takeuchi (Local Sound Network / LSN, HueHelix) borned in Osaka, contacted electronic music in the early 90's. At the end of that decade, he moved to the United States, where he discovered Techno, House and Electro.

Ryuji Takeuchi (Local Sound Network / LSN, HueHelix) was born in Osaka, and then first contacted with Electronic Music in the early 90s. In the late 90s, he moved to the United States, where he discovered Techno, House and Electro Music.

As soon as he got back, he started to DJ at several locations and eventually learned to produce at the same time. After that, he released on such labels as: LK Rec, Arms, Mastertraxx, FK Rec, SWR, Innervate, I.CNTRL, Impact Mechanics, Silent Steps, GSR, Brood Audio, to name but a few.

In 2011, Ryuji started his own imprint called 'Local Sound Network / LSN' as a platform for new generation of electronic sound which following words can appropriately describe: driving,hypnotic, atmospheric, emotional, groovy, funky... and any other aspects that rock from brain to the dance floor under the following statement:
From local to global...
It exists in order to inspire the world...

Also, Ryuji kicked off another brand new label called 'HueHelix / HHX' as a new platform, which discloses something new,only represented by HueHelix, together with Go Hiyama, Tomohiko Sagae and Kazuya Kawakami, in order to push quality music with global standard from where sun rises.

In 2012, Ryuji launched 'Local Sound Network Digital Solutions / LSNDS' series in need of discovering and introducing wider range of electronic music, aiming at dropping unique audio output while it's hot. TF #194: @nx1-3 [Nexe Records] - Barcelona, Spain.

NX1 is the duo consisting of @surit and Samot (@tomas-b), artists both based out of Barcelona. Formed at the end of 2011 together with his @nexe-records label, they have devoted themselves to a trademark sonic imprint that moves between heavy memories of classic techno to more mental and psychedelic spaces in contemporary sound design. The project contain futuristic aspects propelling themselves forward, while also taking into consideration and expressing modern challenges.

Today they are stablished artists with great contributions on platforms like Mord, Leyla Records, Semantica, BITE and more.
