THE SONGWRITING CHALLENGE
This is a new category for 2020. We ask you to write a new lyric or a new melody to an existing famous song. The new lyric and the new melody will have exactly the same structure and metre so when the winning Lyric and the winning Melody are put together by the UKSC they will be a perfect fit and a new complete song is created. The UKSC will professionally record the resulting song for the winners! Simple but brilliant (if we do say so ourselves). The first classic song we have chosen to start this challenge is Yesterday by Paul McCartney. Paul had the melody for this song for some time before he had a flash of inspiration for the final lyrics while driving. Let us have your alternative Melody and Lyrics for this classic AABA song structure

Hello Soundcloud, thanks for the Listens, Likes and Support. Im from Melbourne Australia, I have been playing guitar for many years now and played in two bands during the 80's & 90's (STOLEN CAR original) & (STORM cover),both bands never released any material. Since 2010 i have been writing songs and tunes and recording them in my music room (3rd Bedroom), i play Guitar, Bass, Keys, BFD2 Drums(programmed)and Vocals on all of my songs which i class as Demo's, I love all types of music but Hard Rock, Rock to Alternative appeals to me most.

"It's just a hobby!"

I bought my first guitar about 10 years ago, I was 56 years old. I had wanted to learn long ago and decided with my early retirement, now was a good time! I had no musical experience but with the help of many YouTube videos (mostly JustinGuitar.com), I started to learn. Along the way, I wrote my first original song and started videoing and recording my music, both originals (@lenaloise) and covers (@lenaloisecovers). My first song was posted about 5 years after that first guitar!

My music "hobby" has really grown since I started! Many guitars, pedals, gadgets, equipment! But it's a hobby! I work hard for every note and learning this instrument at an older age is different from starting in your teens! My page is a mix of things that I enjoy in my "hobby"! I record "almost live" with minimal takes and editing. I strive for fun, not perfection, and I learn as I need to for that enjoyment!
