​No Title (for flute and piano) This piece is a "frustrated" attempt to create a 12-tones serial composition. The serie is extracted from a sequence of notes in a work by Pierre Boulez, and organized in groups or "entities" such as Boulez has written in his texts.  The serie was used, after all, only as a general guide instead of the orthodoxy approach of 12-tone traditional compositions. The instrumental choice was inspired on the celebrated piece "Sonatine" by the french composer.

a obra é uma tentativa de uma composição serial dodecafônica. A série construída a partir de um sequência de alturas de uma obra de Pierre Boulez, na verdade, serviu apenas como guia geral, sendo desfeita ao invés de mantida ao longo da obra que tem sua formação instrumental inspirada na célebre “Sonatine” do compositor francês.

Aquele grito insistente: “pega, essa p***, pega ***, pega essa m**, p***” repetido por algum dos muitos e inusitados personagens da Lapa, parecia ter um ritmo, um “cadência” diferente. É ele que se escuta logo nos primeiros compassos e a partir daquelas poucas alturas que toda a estrutura de Partículas Elementares se desenvolve​.

A constant and annoying yelling: "take that sh**, take that Sh**, take take sh**, da***d" repeated by one of many picturesque characters ​of Lapa ( a famous neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro Center City), for me , sounded with some sort of rhythm and metric, and hammered in my head for a couple of days. Those "yells" are on the very first bars and from that few notes that all the structure of Elementary Particles is developed.

Almada Nº 2 (para quarteto de cordas) é uma forma-sonata composta a partir do sistema-Gr (de Grundgestalt) - desenvolvido  pelo compositor e pesquisador Carlos Almada (UFRJ) - no qual a partir de um excerto musical qualquer é extraído todo o material melódico, harmônico e rítmico que será utilizado na peça. O motivo gerador do material foi extraído do tema do Minueto da Suíte para Piano op.25, de A. Schoenberg.  O parâmetro textura é utilizado como elemento delineador da forma.

"Fili di Perle" (Strings of Pearls) was composed for the Karol Szymanowski Composition Competition and was awarded 3rd Prize. The piece was premiered by the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland; under the direction of Maciej Tomasiewicz.
