A Minev hybrid of UK garage, electronica and Bulgarian folk music.

This track is a tribute to Valya Balkanska (Валя Балканска), a Bulgarian cultural icon and world renowned folk singer. In1977, her recoding of Izlel e Delyo Haidutin (Излел е Дельо Хайдутин) was sent to travel beyond our solar system on board the Voyager spacecraft, one of a select group of recordings chosen to represent humankind. A sample from her likewise transcendental sounding recording of Dobre Mi Doide, Yunache (Добре Ми Дойде, Юначе) has been reimagined in this electronic music composition. 

Mixing electronic music and the sound of millennia-old culture from the Rhodope mountains is perhaps an audacious move, but I do so with respect and love for both genres. Whatever the result, I hope this track helps the "negativity flow away down the rivers, carried away by the water" as per Valya’s own words in the interview sample.
