Andrew Balboa is a Canadian progressive metal vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Vancouver. Known for his operatic range, cinematic soundscapes, and dynamic songwriting, Balboa bridges the gap between heavy metal and orchestral storytelling.

As the lead singer and keyboardist of Heyoka’s Mirror, a hidden gem in Canada’s progressive metal scene, Balboa has developed a signature sound that blends technical precision with emotional intensity. His solo work expands this vision further, exploring the boundaries between reality and illusion through complex rhythms, soaring vocals, and immersive atmospheres.

His upcoming EP, Ungratefully Unsatisfied (out January 9, 2026), is a conceptual journey about awakening inside a simulation and the struggle to break free — a bold statement of modern existentialism wrapped in cinematic progressive metal.
