Notes about the recording.

My name is Andrew J. Judge and im an artist with a background of music production and I am attending college to study sound in spaces so I can utilize that wisdom in producing. This is a DJing mix on a Pioneer DJM900NXS mixer and 2 x XDJ1000's and its a bunch of artists I like. 
So I slept in a nook in Terminal 1 at LAX Airport by the checkin on the 2nd deck. 3 days went by as I worked on finding a place to live. I was prepared to stay at the airport until my start date of college if need be. That wasn’t my personal plan but it was an option. On the early morning hours of the 4th day I was woken up by the police and was told I couldn’t sleep in the terminal. I knew that was my last night. Fortunately I was able to keep my Turntables, Mixer and Speaker at the Bob Hope USO at night when they locked it up. I had expressed to my mother my dilemma and she decided to pawn my fathers wedding ring. That wedding ring was actually given to me from my father but I decided to give it back to my mother because of sentimental reasons and the memories that ring held. When I heard my mother pawned the ring I was immediately upset. That ring was worth way more than $535.00 but it helped me stay at the Marriott airport hotel for 4 days. I was so upset about how much she got for the ring and but then I later thought. I am my fathers son. I was struggling and with that money he provided me with shelter until I could move into a place. That first night I went to sleep in a king size bed and I had dreamt of my father. So vivid was my father. A little bit younger version of himself before he passed at 83. It appeared he was about early 70’s. The thing about it was he wasn’t mad but he was laughing. Not at my situation but almost as if he was laughing at somebody who had been tormenting me. I took it as a sign and was grateful. Those 4 days I recovered as best as I could and rediscovered what it was like to swim in a swimming pool. Reviving as if it was like reconnecting with a long lost friend from my childhood. I also set up my turntables and recorded my first mix in LA in the hotel room. This collection of music Ive been digging looking back into the past trying to find songs that the legends grew up listening to. Some songs ive played in the past but with different layers of samples from other artists. What music would spark fond memories of somebody like John Digweed and Jimpster? A friend Lee Anderson had mentioned my set was progressive at a show I opened up for Taiki Nulight on August 15 2025. What I like is music with different rhythm patterns but still danceable. Groovy rhythms. I do think a lot about when I DJed at Asylum Afterhours and although the people some have moved on I still believe I was taught the right way. When it was about the music and dancing… and well lets be honest the occasional drug taking. But it was about the community and the quality of sound. My DJ set was heavy on FX as ive been practicing on unconventional methods to make it sound trippy. Like if you were high on acid or mushrooms what would that sound scape sound like. Also I discovered another artist… definitely my new favorite. He goes by Freaky Chakra and he’s from SF and was part of a psychedelic dance project. Please enjoy.
