Born in 1970. Music fan since 1985. Now heaving fun with making music. I'm self-taught, playing everything by ear. Started in 1990's but due to certain circumstances left in 1998 until April 2022. My music is created in Ableton Live 11 Intro (until december 2022) and 11 Standard with mostly free plug-ins. Fan of soundtracks (my personal heros are John Williams, Clint Mansell, Philip Glass, Thomas Newman, Hans Zimmer and much more), world music (Dead Can Dance), chillout (Bent, Zero7, Groove Armada, St. Germain, Air, Röyksopp, Kosheen and more), trip-hop (Massive Attack, Portishead), acid jazz (Us 3), fusion (Pat Metheny Group, Dirty Loops), progressive rock (Porcupine Tree), classical (Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Debussy, Orff, Mussorgsky) electronica (Imogen Heap), IDM/House (Moderat, Apparat, Plaid) and electronic music (Vangelis, Kraftwerk, Isao Tomita, Marek Biliński, J.J. Jarre).

I'm here to share and appreciate all genres of music.  Most of what I am currently recording is electronic, and largely ambient, in nature; however, I have recently started recording cover songs of various tunes.  So, since I'm no longer strictly ambient (only mostly), I've changed my SoundCloud name to Smooth Waters Sonic Journeys.  Headphones greatly enhance the listening experience. Best described as eclectic, my style is a soothing mix mirroring my personality: mostly mellow with the occasional outburst. Although I have a background in classical piano I have always loved to create and improvise.  Since early childhood I have been trying to duplicate on the piano what I hear in my head.  Now I see how formal studies and improvisation fit together perfectly. I hope to always keep growing and learning, reflecting the beauty of Christ in all my endeavors. Andrew Lee Farquhar is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from the UK. His compositions often feature strings and piano, even sometimes with electronics and ambient textures.

Farquhar's solo piano music without words, evokes a minimalist emotional-world, yet in other ways neutral, melancholic, and desirable. A soundscape full of blurry images of the past; of long forgotten memories and characters from a yesteryear; of times gone by and ever-looping addictive piano phrasing, of beautiful melodies from far-away-destinations, far-away-waters, far-away-skies, far-away-landscapes. 

Born in Northern England, he spent years studying piano, developing a minimalist, modern classical repertoire. He is a highly creative piano artist with a distinct flair in the neoclassical minimalist genre stratosphere.

I am a pianist and composer who has studied the art of music for over 15 years. I have been lucky enough to develop my skill and passion at some of the most reputable schools, including Nakas Conservatory in Athens, Edinburgh College HNC and Newcastle University for music. I am constantly working on developing myself and my career in the music industry. The following pieces that I have composed, are soundtracks that are inspired by different genres of movies.
