As a young man, I was fascinated by Icarus, but I have come to see that myths are insufficient to truths. Truths are far more powerful. Truths are rare. They are beautiful. They reflect the sun’s light, dazzling us into blindness, yet it is not the sun that sends us plummeting earthward in consequence. It is the ineffective nature of our senses, that delude us into chasing epochs neurons that may or may not serve us. We are forever distracted by our own lives and the incongruences of our minds, endlessly hungry for something more profound.

We build our truths, breathe them, consume them—then cast them aside the moment their flavor fades. Somehow, still, I have learned. Do not work so hard in the shadows. Do not strive so much. Merely give, give freely, and when the carpet unfolds beneath the brightest of lights, do not hesitate to walk forward.

Andrew Lee Farquhar is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from the UK. His compositions often feature strings and piano, even sometimes with electronics and ambient textures.

Neoclassical Contemporary Crossover Composer  / Piano Artist:

Farquhar's solo piano music without words, evokes a minimalist emotional-world, yet in other ways neutral, melancholic, and desirable. A soundscape full of blurry images of the past; of long forgotten memories and characters from a yesteryear; of times gone by and ever-looping addictive piano phrasing, of beautiful melodies from far-away-destinations, far-away-waters, far-away-skies, far-away-landscapes. 

Born in Northern England, he spent years studying piano, developing a minimalist, modern classical repertoire. He is a highly creative piano artist with a distinct flair in the neoclassical minimalist genre stratosphere.
