It feels good to release some tunes! I've been thinking a lot about the boundary between sound design and melody/harmony, and  'Decorating Time' explores that idea. It represents a lot of what I have learned in the past year and explores some techniques I've been diving deeper on.

This one was in the works for a while, went through a lot of iterations, and then sat on the shelf for some time when I got sick of it. I accidentally pitched the whole master down one day and heard everything from a new perspective that I really liked, and that's the version being released today.

The Chopski EP is some of my more exotic & eccentric tunes that are very vocal sample based. Always have fun chopping and editing up the human instrument that is our vocal chords. Each track is quite different in their energy and style but they are all 140bpm! Hope you enjoy the treat :)

intro

divergent series builds on a glitchy melodic sequence that was composed on my modular synth. rich harmonies layered with reverb and broken by glitches, repeats, and stutters provide the foundation for one of my favorite things that I wrote in 2023.

this track has been through so many iterations. really thrilled to finally call it done and share it with the world. the original WIP title was "bugs" because it was based around some loud field recordings of insects. those sounds were eventually stripped to make room for guitar layers and percussion. this track blends some inspirations from shoegaze and jam, using a bunch of original guitar layers, along with some 808 drums and other synthetic sounds. hope you dig it :)

this track was a really fun exploration of non-4/4 time in bass music (count that 9/4) along with one of my favorite gnarly bass sounds. i hope you dig the meditations :)

meditations

originally titled 'heady groover', this track uses some drums from the tr-8s, sparse modular sounds for the melodic bits, and some heavy subs.  really digging this tempo for club-inspired stuff these days
