The story of this track goes way back, but we will cut to the time label boss Ben Rama was invited to play a festival in New Zealand, where he met the super friendly and talented Spoonhead. Ray subsequently sent us this tremendous prog-tech reworking of Grouch's impeccable track 'Schizvukt' (originally released on Copycow) and we are very pleased to be finally releasing this bad boy as part of our 'Free Cloud' series!  Enjoy!!!

I had a clear vision when beginning work on this track, I wanted the BPM to be increased - I chose 144bpm as I like the way the bassline rolls at this speed - the track was already in D# which is a powerful note for basslines to come across in a very imposing manner which suits my style perfectly.

As soon as I sat down and began to arrange the tune the structure manifested itself quite naturally - I wanted to keep the key elements of the original tune as the main driving force of the track - I used a lot of granular synthesis as well as gating and distortion to mangle some elements and make them into effects and riffs that remind of the original sound. 

I feel like what makes it unique is the power that comes through from the driving bassline, as well as the powerful building arrangement - it reaches it's peak in a timely and intense fashion.

The wubby styled sound worked perfectly into a little broken beat break in the middle of the track that throws a curveball - re-engages the listener and then throws them back into an epic build/crescendo.

I hope you really enjoyed the track - it was a pleasure to remix.
