A quintessential sublimity sounds out here... I would agree with Hank that "This is the best music...", except that I cannot hear this as 'music',  because it is the real and actual sounding out of a rich and complex Lifeworld, it is the sound of healthy Life itself, and that is not 'music', it is the deep, fertile mother-soil of all humanity, and what humans conceive of as 'music' is an abstraction, an abstract reflection, of the sounding-out of such Lifeworlds. All musical beauty and emotion owes its content, its depth, its life and richness, to these primordial depths of experience. These are what have made us 'human': biologically, physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually. Our human 'music' is just our way of articulating and celebrating this truth. Personally, I confess that I really do prefer the 'original soil', the 'original forest'. Here, you've shared a moving example of one of its infinitely variable soundings. (I would love to hear this with time expanded...)

This is an extremely good recording.  It would be nice to see it on Bandcamp so I can buy it.  Such a pity I couldn't make it over to Estonia this year.

Are these also cuckoo vocalisations after the main cuckoo calls?

During a mid-March visit to Big Bend National Park in Texas, I recorded this immersive binaural soundscape at dawn in Santa Elena Canyon. It features wind blowing through a dense thicket of Carrizo Cane (an invasive species from Asia that is now common along the Rio Grande), which produces clicks and clatters as gusts pass through the stiff, bamboo-like reeds. Ravens nest in the canyon and croak repeatedly as they fly up and down the Rio Grande River, their calls echoing off the steep cliffs above. Such a pleasing, enveloping mix of the sounds of the wind, ravens and reeds!. Please wear headphones for optimal immersion!

It is late summer in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York. As night unfolds, crickets trill, their songs mesmerizing and tranquil. Then, without warning, Coyotes howl and yip, their reverberant echos reaching out in all directions. Exhilarating, intoxicating wild music, flowing deeply into the recesses of our minds.

NOTE: This is a 3-D binaural recording. Please wear headphones for a realistic spatial listening experience that wil make you think you're actually outdoors, immersed in the natural world. 

OF FUTHER NOTE: I recorded the coyotes one night in mid-July in a forested area in upstate New York. There was very little background sound, so I returned three weeks later to same spot to record crickets trilling gently. I then added the cricket chorus to the coyote track to provide a more relaxing and meditative background. Also ... long silent intervals between three different outbursts have been drastically shortened.

In the hour before sunrise, the calls of Tawny Frogmouth and Southern Boobook can be heard, along with crickets and other insects. Willie Wagtails sing sweet short melodies and later in the track an Australian Owlet Nightjar occasionally ‘chirps’ .
