Chevy One's Whip It Up is getting the remix treatment here and we've got two very nice ones for you to choose from. The Specimen A Remix is a crisp and clean peaktime breakbeat banger that melds the original vocal into a reimagined synth bassline and lead stack. Precision vocal and drum edits help sculpt this track into a thing of beauty. Andy Faze gives Whip It Up a psy-breaks overhaul with a chugging static bassline and an array of squelchy acid synths and spaced-out effects to zone out to along the way.

As featured on my Summer 2012 promomix, this remix of Perfect Stranger's 'Slope' has been a regular feature in my  DJ set's for well over a year now, often as an intro track. It's a much more minimal affair than my other stuff, I tried to stay focused on the groove and the main lead line, while breaking it up with a few sick edits. By now you will have heard me raving on about Grouch on facebook. For me, and many others, he is one of the true masters of psychedelic music, and a hugely inspiring character! I got to spend a couple of days with him when I was in Australia earlier this year, and we played around on our laptops, producing as many cool sounds as we could in the time we had. After this, we went home and each produced a track using those sounds as the basis. This is my version, and it will be coming out on Broken Robot in December 2012. Grouch's version will be coming out sometime in 2013, i'll keep you posted!

Andy Faze:

Andy Tappin is a DJ, Producer, Scientist and avid electronic music lover of over 15 years on the scene. Spinning everything from House, Techno & Trance, Andy has honed his craft into Breakbeat! Over the last 5 years Andy has established himself as a respected producer & DJ in the scene with over 50 releases, on more than 15 international, leading & influential record labels.

His progressive style and consistant slick production with-in the modern day Psybreaks sound, has earned him great respect and many fans. Many of Andy's releases have reached the top 100 charts in all major download stores and many of them reaching the top 50!

Andy has performed at various clubs and festivals here in the UK, across Europe, and has graced the same stages and nights with legendary acts such as - Eat Static, Cosmosis, The Orb, Green Nuns of the Revolution, System 7, Liquid Ross, Astralasia, Transglobal Underground, OOOD, Hedflux and Guadi to name a few. 

He helps run Sub Element Recordings, which was voted best new label in 2014 at - Breakspoll (The International Breakbeat Awards). Andy was also nominated for an award in 2013 along with DJ Fastbinder for best radio show (Future Breakz Live). Andy now runs his own Psybreaks podcast (Elements), which has gained over 20,000 subscribers (in just 18 months), welcomed massive support, and is growing each day! 

Mr Faze  has recieved support from respected artists such as - Nick Sentience, Hedflux, Bad Tango, Broken Eye, OOOD, Monk3ylogic, Chris Voro, Pale Penguin, Llupa, Too Dusty, AP3X, Martopeter, plus many others.

With already an extensive discography - many productions, remixes and a brand new album planned for the summer, the horizon looks bright! :)
