A beautiful track. You've got a nice airy mix that allows all of your instruments to shine and blend well. I dig your artwork and the funky keyboard too, cats don't play that well anyway. /ᐠ｡ꞈ｡ᐟ\

Even though the melodies are quite pleasant, the first two sections make me feel a bit like listening to an outro. Having a more distinct theme might have worked better.

Those cymbals might have worked out better without the severe panning. They draw too much  attention like this, imo.

This last section is the best, I think. it builds up to the end really well, and feels much more deliberate. Very nice.

Gyroscopic (disquiet0631)

This week's Disquiet Junto prompt was "0631: In a Silent Waveform". The instructions were to "take one held tone and make it dance slowly".

The title of my piece, "Dream of a Rarebit Fiend," is taken from a 1906 silent film directed by Edwin Porter. The film is seven minutes long, and is notable for its revolutionary special effects. It tells the story of a man who, upon gorging himself on Welsh rarebit (toasted cheese on bread), falls into bed with a fever dream of animated furniture, pesky imps, and a night flight above the rooftops.

I chose 554.37 Hz as my single source tone, and recorded 8 tracks of it: 5 on my St Vincent guitar with ebow, and 3 on a Roland/Studio Electronics SE-02 analog synth. These tracks were then woven together and processed with a variety of rhythm-based effects to make them dance together. Additional rhythmic elements were created for the synth tracks by manipulating knobs on the SE-02 control panel.

Underneath it all is a single unsettling kick drum. The rhythm is everywhere and nowhere, something and nothing, like a fever dream.

NOTE: Your odds of discovering a secret recipe for Welsh rarebit hidden in the audio file may be improved by listening with headphones.

Dark Nights TECHNO EDIT (original track)

This week, I made a drone in D with three oscillators and Rings.
These are processed through lubadh, clouds, various delays and reverb, with lots of modulation, including rhythmic elements which come in later.  I started out with one tone and then gradually introduce and adjust the elements so the drone slowly dances.

Sometimes you don't need music, a dance floor or a crowd to dance, you just move to what's playing in your head...

This track creates music from a single held note on the synthesizer. Many different effects are used to build the composition, deriving rhythms, beats and additional soundscapes.
But everything is derived from the single note played.

This music was inspired by the Disquiet Junto Project 0631.

Solitary Dance  (Disquiet0631)

I started from a held guitar tone, added another after a few beats, then a second voice a bit more staccato and finally - maybe I focused a bit too much on the “make it dance part” here - a beat (and a fireplace). The whole thing sounds like a breathing machine, maybe in a steel mill.
