“Electrical Emotions” is Andy Morello's first modular-techno EP. 
Once again, the eclectic performer and producer amazes us with a new studio work which follows his first two EPs, “Collateral Fluxus of Imaginary Thoughts” (2020) and “Tapes” (2022), both published by 51Beats. 
Electrical Emotions is hypnotic, bassy, and alienating. It will bring you towards distant world to perform frenetic dances. Philipp Dick wondered whether Androids were dreaming about electric sheep… well, we don’t know, but surely humans will dream about obscure clubs and strobe lights while listening to Electrical Emotions! … Electrical Emotions connects “electricity” and “emotions”, with the latest being quite a special kind of electrical signal … and this is what makes us human indeed ... 
“Electrica” and “Ghost” are produced by Andy Morello, with the EP closing with an "Electrica” version as re-edited, remixed, and produced by Duscio, formerly appeared jointly with Andy within their album “Electricults” (2021, 51Beats).

It's always great, if you get things done. This week was very productive work-wise, several topics fininalized and done in a satisfying manner. Another great thing is, if supporting customers and colleagues works out and gets you up to speed with issues, resolving problems fast and steady. All these good things give positive energy and let you run on steroids, so to say. So, yes, well a good week. And better than the last ones. The question is, where to go with all the energy sampled along the way and not burst into flames. Well, one way is to work out hard. So here I have music to go with it that will make your body move and spend some energy. Roberto Mantovan is a physicist, runner, and music enthusiast. Under the pseudonym Robidat, he performs as a dj since 1991, date of purchase of his first vinyl (FUSE, plus8 #013). Since then, he never abandoned the turntables, djing in Italy and Europe with some good friends like Adriano Canzian, Wolfgang Flür (ex Kraftwerk), Daniel Meteo, …. Djsets from Robidat are ONLY VINYL, with a powerful mix of percussive techno, house, and oldschool acid sounds, without forgetting the most exciting novelties from the electronic music scene. Robidat establishes 51Beats “an electronic experience” in 2008, an independent label based in Milan, which is devoted to discover new talents in the electronic music scene. In 2010 Robidat compiles the 2CD “Gravity and Quantum Mechanics”, nominated in 2011 at “QWARTZ Electronic and New Music Awards 7” in the “best compilation” category. To celebrate the 15th years of 51Beats, Robidat compiles the 3rd episode of “Gravity and Quantum Mechanics”, which is available as a limited edition CD.

It's usually the night life, when people stream into clubs and go for dancing or what they nowadays call so. Of course, it always depends on the music. I am no fan of dancing and don't do it at all. My wife can tell you stories. No idea, why it is that way. Maybe it was that dancing course I had to participate in at school time. It was terrible to say the least. Well, nevertheless, rhythm in music still gets me now and then. And when it makes me move or at least wobble my head, I know it got to me. So, tonight you will get some wobble moments, I hope. Electronic dancy stuff, for most of the time. EDUARDO RECK MIRANDA'S INTRODUCTION TO QUBISM
While having learned classical musical instruments since childhood, my preferred tool for composing is the computer. I have been delving into Artificial Intelligence (AI) and innovative computing methods for composition for some time now. An intelligently programmed computer can collaborate in the creative process, offering fresh insights and ideas beyond my own.

Spinnings and Swirling Qubits are live recordings played with the Q1Synth instrument. Q1Synth is a software sound synthesiser that makes sounds with a qubit. The qubit is visualised on the computer monitor as a sphere. A continuously changing sound is produced while rotating the sphere with a peripheral, such as a mouse. At specific times, Q1Synth communicates with a quantum computer on the cloud to process the qubit. This results in an unpredictable dynamic sound.
For the rendition of Spinnings, three performers played a Q1Synth each using wireless gloves and rings. For Swirling Qubits, a performer donning a sleeve made with smart textiles played the piece with choreography information relayed wirelessly to four Q1Synth instruments.

Lumina Grooves 1, 2 and 3 are three renderings of a multifaceted piece commissioned for the festival Komplementārās pretrunas (Complementary Contradictions, in English), which took place in Riga, Latvia, in 2023.
I developed with my team a piece of software for a photonic quantum computer to deconstruct a given piece of music and deduce algorithms to reconstruct it from its bare bones. To begin with, I wrote a short composition scored for a chamber ensemble. It was in a minimalist style, inspired by the work of American composer Philip Glass. Then, I inputted the piece into the photonic software for processing.
Every time I ask the photonic computer to produce a new composition, the results will always be distinct. This is due to the statistical nature of the deduced algorithms and the inherent stochasticity of quantum computers. Metaphorically, it is as if Lumina Grooves lives in a multiverse with many observable versions.

51beats is glad to present the debut solo work by @imnot_here1 (aka Davide Barucca), a musician and multi-instrumentalist from Ancona, Marche region.
“Outside” invites you to look outside, far away, focusing on the beauty of nature. It is an odyssey of sounds, rhythms, wind instruments, piano solos, all in a perennial crescendo; a journey to distant lands, perhaps imaginary, delicately outlined with pastel colours.
The synthesis of the modular, skilfully spread on the canvas in the form of arpeggios and circular sequences, creates a perfect substrate for the brushstrokes of piano and alto sax, with which _Imnot__here completes the soundscape and transports the listener between the sinuous lines of a world in perfect harmony.
The _Imnot__here project fits with originality into the neokosmische trend of Emeralds, John Also Bennet, Jonathan Fitoussi and Plasman, among others.

So I am enjoying the final hours of my vacation. It's kind of a hybrid state, where I feel as much relaxed as energized for a busy summer ahead. Well, difficult to decide upon the path for this edition, hence it is somewhat ambient, but on the more progressive edge with twists and rhythms. What do you think makes ambient music ambient? The Machine Project - Deep Ambient

Producer & Modular Synth Performer.

Born in 1973, Andy Morello is involved in electronic music, productions and remixes, since a long time. His research is aimed at finding the link between improvisation and programming. Either playing live or in his studio, Andy travels through rarefaction, granularization, dub, techno and experimentation: a sort of extemporaneous sound installation, created on the spot, unique. From 2017, Andy is deeply passionate to modular synthesis, starting from 2018 the Milano Modulare community, coordinating in 2019 the realization of the first modular day in Milan “Connessioni a modular journey” realized in partnership with Machine Jockey and LePark. Never exhausted, Andy opens in 2020 the Voltage Creative Studio, a recording studio dedicated to musicians, vocalists and producers, which aims to become a reference point both for Milan modular community and for “modular based” productions and sound design.
