In writing their mature guitar-pop, Swim Season draw from the five very different musical backgrounds of its members- James Seymour (Vocals/Guitar), Matthew Jennings (Guitar/Vocals), Danielle Smarrelli (Keys/Vocals), Nelson Yeung (Bass) & Jonathon Ferraro (Drums). The Melbourne quintet born from earlier project We The People quickly garnered respect locally for their energetic live show and internationally for their remarkably catchy tunes and film clips.

Praise flowed in for 2014 singles ‘The Throne’ and ‘Hide & Seek’, but 2015’s ‘Soldiers’ really allowed them to make their mark, selling out shows around Australia and gracing a number of festival lineups. After taking some time off to write, record and allow lead singer James to recover from vocal cord surgery, the group are now ready to take on 2017 with single ‘Lungs’.

Mid Ayr, the moniker of Brisbane-based singer/songwriter Hugh Middleton, has been a long time in the making. Hugh started writing demos for his new project whilst playing and touring the world with his previous band, The Trouble With Templeton. “I have always had the desire to start my own project so gradually whilst on the road with Templeton I started writing and then I would record the ideas in my bedroom studio. I began playing with drummer Zach Moynihan after an off hand meeting at the Zoo in Brisbane supporting his girlfriend at the time. After a brief chat about influences I knew we were on the same page with our musical aspirations and decided to set up some rehearsals. Zach was also playing drums in Brisbane’s ‘My Own Pet Radio’ and ‘Denpasaar’ and had the idea of asking Alex L’Estrange, who was also playing in both these outfits, to jump in for a rehearsal. We hit it off immediately…”

As well as being an incredibly gifted songwriter and instrumentalist, L’Estrange has quite the knack for production, (and was in fact at the time producing the upcoming side project from Sam Cromack, “My Own Pet Radio”). Alex became more and more involved with the production of the Mid Ayr EP in the months to come.

Hugh popped his first single ‘My Mayhem’, recorded at home by himself, up online earlier this year with no fan fair whatsoever and it was picked up by influential music blogger “Mr Suicide Sheep”, receiving 400,000 listens in a few weeks, now clocking in at over 650,000 views and plays across video and streaming platforms, and received a swathe of incredible reviews, such as…

Born in Barranquilla, Colombia on April 28, 1982 by the name of Nestor Colina also known as DJ Next Level has always managed to keep it one level above all, in the music and entertainment industry. Learning, eating and breathing his musical influences from his home country in his younger years; Salsa, Cumbia, Vallenato, Bachata, Rock, Hip Hop and Reggae … These diverse genres crystallized his dedication to rock any party. DJ Next Level continues to saturate himself in new and upcoming music every day of his life.
Commencing his career and long adventure in 1996, Dj Next Level got his first gig at Club Temptation in his home town. At the age of fourteen he was already making his name known through out Colombia. Shutting it down, at a capacity of 800 people was a successful challenge for him. That’s when he realized that DJ Next Level had to abroad his horizons.
Convincing his parents to realize his dream as a DJ, They moved to the “Big Apple” New York City in 1998. Establishing his name in hosting “House Parties” and renting halls for “Private Parties” created his strongest influence; exposure to the wide range of genres. Dj Next Level got his first contract at the age of seventeen as a resident Dj in Club Rendezvous in New York, NY.
He has performed in hundreds of clubs all over United States from New York to Miami. Traveling back in forth from Colombia still to this day. Club Temptation in Colombia, Club Rendezvous in NewYork. His G.I. DISCO events are focussing on the „80s soulful club sound“ that is now influencing modern club music and originally was imported to Germany by the American G.I.’s, their clubs and radio station AFN. Yet the party concept toured clubs from London to Barcelona. In 2010 a G.I. DISCO cd/vinyl compilation was worldwide released by acclaimed British record label BBE Music. It received raving reviews from the international music press, newspapers and news magazines including Der Spiegel and Die Zeit. Also concept and co-curation for the special exhibition „From G.I. Blues to G.I. DISCO“ (Allied Museum Berlin 2013/14), showcasing the history of the German music-, club- and youth culture under the influence of the U.S. soldiers stationed in Germany since end of World War II, gained international attention and reputation for the project.
