Polymath continues on it’s thematic journey, this time touching on the concept of ‘Decay’. Leading the troupe is renowned duo Digitaria. Their piece relies on a hypnotic, chugging bass-line and melodic leads to reveal their thoughts on the theme. The lead synth plays with decay and sustain parameters to reinforce the idea, and a suspenseful break adds to the compelling mood.

Polymath head Third Son, and Sincopat’s Darlyn Vlys, collaborate for the first time to bring us a heads down, melancholic affair, with a clear message. The words “The end is the same for everyone one”, points towards the idea of death, emphasising the theme.

Newcomer Ańii, makes her Polymath debut in style. A relentless bass-line coupled with dark atmospheres makes this one for the later nights. Arpeggiated chords enter the arrangement during a break before once again being pushed out by the powerful low end.

Dusty Kid is one of most renowned Italian electronic music artists. His profile remains in the underground side of the industry but his musical skills are great and eclectic. 'Istmo' is leaded by a catchy melody surrounded by a powerful bassline and deep elements. 'Sysma' is such a real techno track, a few but well chosen elements and some original and surprising breaks… Closing the release we find 'Feelers', a track with a raw beat, big bassline and lead synth, enough to do serious damage to any techno dancefloor.

You will probably dont need more than one minute to realize how talented Anii is. The polish lady (based in London) is one of those female shooting stars right now having a very special taste of deep and dark electronic music, adding a lot of love for details inside her productions. According to three strong Originals we invited Eins Tiefer (Upon.You, Sisyphon) and Ukraine´s rising star Stas Drive to put their fingers on two of these bombs. The result is a long long train ride. Anii is a lifelong devotee of electronic music - starting with drum’n’bass, before moving on to electro and, eventually, house and techno. She began experimenting with turntables in her late teens, leaving her homeland for London, where she started to build her career from the ground up.

Over a decade later she is a fully-fledged member of the London scene, immersing herself in the city’s clubs, warehouses and after parties ever since she arrived. Anii is a studio hound, dedicating her waking hours to learning, refining and creating consistently.

The result has been a series of releases with a range of highly-respected labels such as Afterlife, Drumcode, Kompakt, Aeon, Selador, Parquet and her own labels ANIITIME  and TOO GOOD tO DIE. Each release has demonstrated her innate ability to transmit deep emotion, with solemn melodies and wistful pad work, while moving the dance floor with potent, contagious rhythms. 

Her label TOO GOOD tO DIE is currently six releases deep, showcasing Anii’s penchant for pulsating basslines and deeply affecting composition, from emotive pads to powerful piano riffs and transcendent atmospheres. This is the place where Anii has found her truest self, enjoying the catharsis of complete autonomy, releasing music whenever she feels the need and picking up a dedicated group of followers in the process. 

It’s been a difficult journey at times, but Anii has held strong, maintained a positive outlook and continued to work hard to achieve her dreams. Creating her own safe space to explore electronic music freely has empowered her to take great strides forward. 

Now a respected member of the world she always wanted to be a part of, she’s sharing her journey with the rest of the world and inviting everyone to come along for the ride...
