As accomplished in the studio as he is behind the decks, Tommy has built an extensive discography that's grown in parallel with his touring career. His critically acclaimed debut LP, Primate, imaginatively fused off-kilter rhythms with four-to-the-floor minimalism, while his follow-up album, Veer, excavated even more daring and driving techno-adjacent territory. 

47, Tommy’s own imprint, is responsible for some of the most innovative techno in the scene today. Its recent 2.0 relaunch has cemented his singular stylistic approach; in the last two years, it has showcased up-and-coming artists like Quelza, Tauceti and VSK, who stand for the sleek and sophisticated aesthetic that Tommy threads through his own mixes and productions. 

An authentic and ever-evolving tastemaker, Tommy’s keen curation remains as sharp as ever.

The DifferentSound Podcast #291 welcomes Nicolas Vogler! Nicolas Vogler is a Brazilian techno DJ, producer & mastering engineer. Strongly inspired by the dirty and energetic sound of the 90s, Brazilian-based artist Nicolas Vogler began his music career by DJing at underground events in his home country, developing over the years an extensive collection of tracks that reflect his keen research and unique musical identity. Through his typical funky, fast, and introspective sound, Nicolas started releasing his tracks through his own personal label NCLS which quickly gained notoriety and attracted support from renowned DJs worldwide. Today, Nicolas has a discography that revolves around just over 150 tracks, 30 albums, and 50 mixtapes signed on notorious labels and collectives of the global techno scene, such as Mutual Rytm, Planet Rhythm, Suara, Syxt Berlin, Malör Records, Orphic Amsterdam, Frenzy and Reclaim Your City.

In the 120th episode of Techno Cartel Podcast we are pleased to host Eva Bohnen

Eva Bohnen is a Dutch DJ and producer, based in Rotterdam. Eva has only just started producing and DJ-ing in 2021, but is already expressing her own unique style. Her love for underground techno stems from the rave scene of the 90s and the alternative punk culture where her roots lie. These edgy influences are noticeable in her sound which can be characterized as raw and intense with high pitched repetitive synth sequences. Together with Denn Punk she runs MEUK Collective, an underground techno collective and record label. Eva is about to release her new 2-tracker solo Bliep EP, which can be expected in the next few days. “I Bliep You” can be heard in this set for Techno Cartel.

For AFP004 we welcome Helrad !! Born and bred in Naples, Helrad has been a lover of electronic music for over 20 years. Since moving to Scotland 3 years ago and starting to produce, he has been meticulously developing his sound. Taking influence from producers such at Slam, Silicone Soul and Joe Farr.

Since starting his label Helrad Limited over two years ago he has collaborated with Steve Still, Joe Farr, Stanislav Tolkachev and Hans Bouffmyhre. Helrad has been working on a forthcoming EP coming out on Joe Farr's label "User Experience" along with a track on Jamaica Suk's quadruple vinyl album which will be released later in the year along with some very familiar names.

24-year-old Glasgow emerging techno producer Katalysk has been a presence on the Scottish circuit for the past six years playing a host of reputable venues such as Club 69, La Belle Angele, Stereo, Biscuit Factory, La Cheetah and Flat o/1, along with a handful of undisclosed locations. Katalysk is in the process of developing his own sound which, like his playing style, is a coherent blend of tough and functional tracks that maintain hypnotic and rhythmic overtones.

Next up on the Animal Farm Podcast is Darrell Pulse. Having been at the forefront of the Edinburgh Techno scene for 10+ years, his event series Pulse boasts a huge selection of DJ’s including Blawan, Len Faki, Ben Klock, Paula Temple, I Hate Models and many more. 

While running Pulse Edinburgh it’s gave Darrell the time to solidify his signature Techno sound, taking inspiration form labels such as Peacefrog, Downwards and Tresor. 

Darrell recently made his Glasgow debut at our 'Local Heroes' event @ Sub Club in January alongside fellow Pulse resident, Sean Laird. Enjoy this hard hitting mix from one of Scotland's best DJs
