Ivy’s mixes are without a doubt some of my favourites. Equally at home playing lush ambient and downtempo sounds, trippy drum and bass, or warpy club grooves, Ivy is a DJ who is undeniably compelling and exceptionally talented. She plays such an important role in the local music community and I am so thrilled to have her on the series with this gorgeous mix of kinky grooves and swung basslines. Equal parts moody and fun, this mix encapsulates everything I admire about Ivy’s DJing. Thank you so much Ivy, this mix slaps <3

A pillar of the Melbourne/Naarm music scene, Jennifer Loveless  ( @jenniferloveless ) has been making waves locally and abroad for some time now. Having originally moved to Melbourne via Toronto, she's become known for her diverse, banging and unique productions on labels such as Butter Sessions, Planet Euphorique, Pure Space & Body Verse

Her talent also shines through in a her insanely busy DJ schedule and varying, but equally impressive multitude of mixes.

Her aura is bubbly, playful and unique, but what really shines through is her true passion for her craft.

Animix Seventy Three: Jennifer Loveless

Low Flung ( @lowflung ) is the long-standing project of Sydney based visual artist Danny Wild. Danny has been present in the East coast underground scene for quite some time now, having cemented his place with an incredibly diverse musical outputs, from ambient and dub to tech house.

"Equally influenced by dub’s sense of space and the rolling expanse of the Australian landscape, Danny fuses field recordings and organic instruments with synthesized soundscapes and buoyant digi basslines to create music that offers an uncanny evocation of place and a keen spatial awareness." - Hani Hanbali

Here we are treated to a live, tech house tinged set from Danny's recent visit to Polyrhythm festival in the ACT.

Animix Eighty One: Low Flung (Live @ Polyrhythm)

#98 calls for a special appearance by my dear friend, and very talented dj/ creator @voxsupreme. Lounes and I met on the beach at waking life festival in 2019 and have been friends ever since, now having done two ambient b2bs, at ADE in Amsterdam in 2019, and then coming full circle, we met at waking life 2022 for our second b2b. 

I consider him a master of all things ambient and electronica.. constanty impressed by the music he shares and plays. Clearly though, his dj'ing doesn't stop at ambient, with a crazy diversity of styles .. from dubstep and dnb to electro, breaks, techno and everything in between. 

Lounes is the man behind the ethereal dreamworld that is @traumgarten - a special collective focused on downtempo/experimental music and events. I'm always so impressed by the love, thought and creativity that goes into his events, alongside his partner Marinka who often contributes too.

Lots of love Lounes and so happy to finally have you as part of the series! <3
