Number forty four presented by one of my favourite artists of late, @niconiquo . After seeing Nico play a flawless live set at a @musiccompanyco at the Meat Market a few weeks ago, I then went on to discover his plethora of stunning works, which he's been releasing since 2015. The local Melbourne/ Naarm producer has featured on labels Orange Milk Records (with another album on the label slated for later this year),  Daisart and Music Company, and also works under the alias Haji K.

Low Flung ( @lowflung ) is the long-standing project of Sydney based visual artist Danny Wild. Danny has been present in the East coast underground scene for quite some time now, having cemented his place with an incredibly diverse musical outputs, from ambient and dub to tech house.

"Equally influenced by dub’s sense of space and the rolling expanse of the Australian landscape, Danny fuses field recordings and organic instruments with synthesized soundscapes and buoyant digi basslines to create music that offers an uncanny evocation of place and a keen spatial awareness." - Hani Hanbali

Here we are treated to a live, tech house tinged set from Danny's recent visit to Polyrhythm festival in the ACT.

“I'd like to share how I inspired me to create tracks and why Felicette.
Felicette is the first cat to visit space. Electrodes were implanted into her brain to control her condition during the flight. Upon her return, Felicette was taken to CERMA, where she was studied for two-three months.
Unfortunately, she was euthanized to continue her research. This story makes you wonder about the cost of scientific advancement, and how we treat animals in their quest for new knowledge.
I wish her name was never forgotten first release will be dedicated to her

For the newest Animix i'm very happy to host an exciting, bass-heavy mix by one of my favourite DJs at the moment, Amsterdam local @jasminhoek

She is in many ways a perfect representation of the bright, bubbly and diverse style that is common amongst so many of my favourite Dutch DJs and producers, whilst at the same time she is certainly paving her own refreshing and unique style. 

Residing in Amsterdam & studying gender studies, Jasmin hosts her own radio show "petting dogs" on Stranded FM.  She frequently featured on De School lineups before its' closure this year, and i'm excited to see where she goes with her DJ'ing in the post-covid music world.

"For a while I feel like I’ve kind of been pigeonholed as a DJ that only plays moody techno and electro, and I just wanted to do something different because I was getting bored listening to and playing the same kind of music all the time. Not that I still don’t love the darker side of electronic music! I definitely still have so much time for it, but I just felt like changing it up a bit :)"


Meet Sydney’s Ivy (aka @iv-dripp), part of Sydney’s Nectar family, co-founder of Headroom (alongside Nat James) and host of ‘Home Time’ on Nomad Radio. 

A well known face and sound in the scene, Ivy has headlined the likes of Outhouse (Melbourne) Pickle (Canberra) has played in support for the likes of Giant Swan, Mama Snake and Pangea. With an affiliation for glitchy electro and breaks, she presents H&S with something special (and a little bit different from her usual ‘staunch’ sound) for our 19th instalment in the series.
