A seasoned selector in her homebase of Naarm/Melbourne, Jazz (@spaceswithinspace) is a rising presence in the electronic music scene at large. A regular fixture on the radio (as PBS 106.7FM ‘Spaces Within Space’ host and resident on both Skylab and Hope Street) as well as in the booth at countless parties and events, her creative mixing style and quirky, always on-point selections have seen her become a much-loved contributor to the bustling Naarm/Melbourne scene.

Expertly blending bleepy synthesisers, broken percussion and playful psychedelia, Jazz’s Patterns of Perception 84 is a perfect snapshot of her idiosyncratic style and taste. Recorded on a dark and rainy morning during Melbourne’s recent fifth lockdown, this set steers Jazz's musical narrative into a dark, dystopian direction, offering an energetic interpretation of the unpredictable reality that we find ourselves in.

Very happy that the newest Animix is presented by my dear friend, and very talented dj, Nat salih ( @nsalih ) . Nat is one of my favourite DJs in Naarm/Melbourne, and has been frequenting Melbourne dance floors for years with a constantly evolving and eternally impressive DJ style. Telling of the musically aligned nature of our friendship, we met at Labyrinth in Japan in 2016. 

Nat's mixes emanate warmth and electricity. Their style always dynamic and diverse. Nat is due to play at the launch party for the newest Animalia release at the end of this month. Hopefully one day soon we can finally do a b2b! Thanks again for this amazing mix Nat <3

Mother of Whomp Party, Annx (@anna-rose-wirth) invites Manchester-based, Tom for the latest ‘Sound of Whomp’. Expect an hour-long deep dive into Tom’s downtempo dreamland, a hazy filled journey of sub-100bpm tracks. 

This mix of absolute perfection starts with some deep downtempo throb, moving through psychedelic chug, building to low and slow hypnotic techno and finally ending on chill-out room floaters. In Tom’s words “Beginning of the night, end of the night, I’m not entirely sure where this mix would fit in myself…”

Anna met Tom through a special alcove of the internet ‘Rapture Network’ and invited him on the show after enjoying all his posts and spending quality dancefloor time together at Sonic Rites.

The twentieth mix in the series comes from Mr Assister, founder of BEAM and  one of the most exciting young DJ’s in London at the moment.

We first bumped into Assister at a Sub:System party, and a few months down the line we’re super happy to have him put together the first mix of the new year.
