Ahead of Transmissions from Hackney, taking place across ten venues in Hackney Wick on October 7, we headed down to the Netil studio for a day celebrating the sounds of this year's event.

With mixes from Adam Pits, DJ Teeth, DJ Wiggles, Faery, In2Stellar, Inner Zone, Jin Synth, Kit Seymour, Miro SundayMusiq, and Remove Me, the sets travelled from textural, ambient soundscapes, through to high energy trance and techno - a taste of what's to come at next month's festival.

I had the joy of playing a sunny afternoon set 15:00-17:30 before Konduku, so I kept things bright & groovy 🌻🧚🌞

This set features some IDM, electro and minimal tracks I haven’t played out in years, alongside recent releases I’ve been enjoying.

The whole festival was beautifully programmed and curated, and I heard many inspiring sets throughout the weekend in the iconic grounds of the Castell De Montjuïc.

Diving into the darkness of a hypnotic opening, So-Fi weaves a subtle and graceful sonic narrative for episode 006 of our mix series. Through this mix, the French Berlin-based artist sketches a journey to the outer edges of a vaporous and magnetic techno — a slow-burning ascent that draws us in, over time, into a psychedelic vortex of sinuous and harmonious curves. A journey where every nuance reveals the contours of her artistic and emotional sensitivity.

There’s a rhythm to how the festival unfolds. Thursday opens slowly, almost like a breath in. By Friday night, the pulse is stronger, but not too heavy. Monument festival had settled into its rhythm, and Kia and Polygonia stepped into the wooden dj-booth together.

The forest floor was vibrating, the crowd fully present. Their set matched the moment—playful, warm, and alive. It felt like Friday was always meant to sound like this. Varden became their playground.

This was more than a strong back-to-back. Two years earlier, they met here, both playing solo, both part of the Monument line-up for the first time. This night marked an anniversary of their friendship. From solo artists to close friends, now creating something special together.

Monument Festival 2024 : Kia b2b Polygonia

@transmigration_records is a Berlin-based record label and archive dedicated to reissuing temporarily lost or forgotten psychedelic electronic music.

Founded in 2022 by Irish DJ David Fogarty, the label has since gathered momentum and recognition for breathing new life into niche catalogues – often forgotten ambient and trance records from the ’90s – through careful restoration and presentation to new audiences.

Like many of the best record labels, Transmigration’s output is reflective of what you might hear in one of David’s DJ sets. Drawing from a wide-ranging record collection, he occupies a unique space that blends the deeper ends of house, techno, and trance, in a way that appeals to both large audiences and hardcore music nerds alike.

We caught up with David to talk shop on the story behind Transmigrations, and what it’s like running an independent label in 2025.

Kicking off 2021 in KOC’s teeming keepnet comes courtesy of Roza Terenzi & Fantastic Man under the guise of production unit B’Zircon. 

Merging the pair’s brill touch of trance-suffused elevation and ankle-twisting dynamics, ‘Lazulination’ EP finds the two producers unleashing a steadfast triad of genre-unbound, organic-grown jams out the deepest blue. 

Pulling out a savvy mix of muscular breaks and hi-NRG shuffle, the ‘90s atmospheric techno-laced roller ‘Azure’ revs up towards upper, euphoria-inducing layers of the ravey continuum. 

Breath-hold diving into lush cerulean ocean floors via white sand beachscapes, ‘Ultramarine’ has us speeding up the Gold Coast’s underwater canyons at full throttle. 

Topping off the release is Perko’s crossover of both tunes as one, taking us on a rivetingly soothing, bass-enhanced downtempo ride that shall please both ambient heads and laid-back dubs revellers in unison.

In recent times, Space Cadets have taken the scene by storm. Based in Leeds, UK, the two are quickly becoming synonymous with a modern and exciting tech/trancey style of production. Both are also residents/co-run the party/mix series @on-rotation-music

Marlon (@liseneuk) & Adam (@adampits) have pioneered a new and unique sound, inspired by elements of 90's and early 2000's tech/trance/prog and electronica but with their own signature touches and embedded with a distinctly UK vibe. With respective releases on Planet Euphorique, Banoffee Pies, X-Kalay & Holding Hands, not only are both incredibly talented producers in their own right, but this mix is proof that their ability to select and compile a compelling set is just as impressive. 

This mix is what we all need after a long 2020.

Salt Mines / Life Sciences Division label-head Rudolf C joins us for both our first EPs of the year. "Gamma!" hits hard across 4-tracks spanning techy-acid, futuristic garage, and peak-time rollers.
